A different kind of stitchmarkers

Maschenmarkierer habe ich mir ja schon öfter gebastelt und bisher immer mit Nylonschnur als Basis. Das hat natürlich den Nachteil, daß man Quetschkalotten braucht (weil man die Nylonschnur nicht sicher und dauerhaft verknoten kann) und daß die abgeschnittenen Enden auch immer etwas kratzig sind und bei feinen Garnen die Gefahr besteht, daß sich Fäden ziehen. Aber es geht auch ganz anders…

It’s not the first time I made stitchmarkers and so far I used nylon as the beading base. The disadvantage is that you need those metall “stopper beads” becaus you can’t make a durable knot in the nylon thread and the cut ends will always be a bit scratchy, so on very fine yarns there is always a small risk of snags. But there is a completely different possibility…

Ich bekam nämlich diesen gewachsten Leinenfaden von Maison Sajou zum Testen für die Hobbyschneiderin 24 und als ich so einen Maschenmarkier auf die herkömmliche Art fädelte, fiel mir auf, das man das auch ganz anders machen kann. Weil das Leinegarn ja weicher ist. Im oberen Teil ist er noch etwas ungleichmäßig, weil sich meine Finger erst an die Makrameeknoten erinnern mußten, aber die Sache ist doch ausbaufähig, oder? (Müßte man eigenltich auch gut als Armband oder so machen können…)

I got this waxed linen thread by Maison Sajou to test it for Hobbyschneiderin 24 and while I was beading a stitch marker as I normally did, I realized, that the softer thread offers different possibilities. The upper part is a bit irregular because it took a bit until my fingers remembered the basic makramee knots, but that’s a base to start with, isn’t it? (Should be good for a bracelet also…)
