Elan 511, third approach

Jetzt habe ich auch mal eben schnell noch einen weiteren Versuch von Elan 511 zwischengeschoben. (Die Puppe ist zwar zu schlank für mich, aber der BH kommt doch etwas besser zur Geltung, als liegend.)

Now I made a quick in between sew, again the bra pattern Elan 511. (My mannequin is too slim for me, but still the bra looks better that way than laying it flat on the floor for the picture.)

Diesmal habe ich am Schnitt nichts mehr geändert, sondern nur an der Verarbeitung. Das rechte Unterkörbchen ist mit Laminat verstärkt und die Unterkörbchen sind beide gedoppelt. Die Rückenteile sind mit leichtem Power Net gedoppelt.

this time I did not change the pattern, only the way I’ve worked it. The right lower cup is padded with laminated foam and both are self lined. the back is doubled with light Power Net.

Spannend wird es mit dem Mittelstück. Die Anleitung verstärkt es ja mit Vlisofix, was aber bei mir die Belastung nicht aushält und sich ganz schnell löst. Die anderen beiden Versionen habe ich daraufhin einfach mit zusätzlich aufgenähten Bändern verstärkt. Das ist funktional, aber nicht schön. Hier habe ich es mit Spitze und Charmeuse versucht. Mal sehen, ob das hinhaut.

What will be interesting is the stability of the bridge. The instructions use Vliesofix (double sided iron on stabilizer), but that lasts only minutes after wearing it. The first two versions I used stabile ribbon and sewed it on, that is functional but not nice. Here I tried lace and nylon (? not sure about the english word). I am curious if that lasts.

 Der zweite Schwachpunkt an meiner Konstruktion ist der Verschluss, ich hatte in der Farbe nur noch einen mit einem Haken. Ich hätte schwören können, ich habe wo noch ein Tütchen in “seltsamen Farben”, aber das ist… verschwunden.

The second point that might become a problem is the closure. I had only one with only one hook in that color. I am absolutely sure, I have a little bag with closures in “odd colors”, but that… has vanished.

Ich hoffe trotzdem, daß der BH so paßt, damit ich ihn endlich aus dem eigentlich dafür vorgesehenen Material nähen kann. Immerhin habe ich jetzt drei Balconettes, dabei wollte ich eigentlich nur einen… *gg*

I stilll hope the bra will fit and be wearable. Then I could finally sew the one I wanted. From the material I’ve bought for it. Because I never wanted more than one balconette bra and I already have three now… *gg*

(Ach ja, die Tüte mit den Haken in seltsamen Farben ist natürlich wieder aufgetaucht. Aber jetzt mag ich das auch nicht mehr austauschen.)

(And of course the bag with the hooks and eyes in odd colors reappeared. But now I won’t replace it.)
