Rudi, the mangy buck

In Paris lief mir kürzlich das Buch “Doudous tout fous” von der japanischen Designerin Aranzi Aronzo für einen extrem geringen Preis über den Weg (amazon hat eine englische Ausgabe) und da mußte ich mich mal dem sinnlosen Nähen ergeben.

Some time ago in Paris I’ve found the book “Doudous tout fous” from the Japanese designer Aranzi Aronzo  (there exists an english edition also) for such a low price that I had to buy it. And had to do some completely non useful sewing.

Rausgekommen ist bei meiner Resteverwertung Rudi. Räudig deswegen, weil die Nahtzugabe für meinen Stoff doch zu schmal war und ich dann noch vor dem Füllen erst mal einige Stellen von Hand zunähen mußte. Das Gesicht habe ich mit verschiedenen Knöpfen und Perlgarn gestaltet, anders als in der Anleitung vorgesehen.

Resulting of my sewing is Rudi. He’s called “mangy” because the seam allowance was to small for my fabric, so I had to close some holes with hand stitches from the right side before I could even stuff him. The face I created with cotton perle thread and buttons, that’s different from the pattern.

Die meisten Zeit hat es gedauert, die passende Knöpfe zu suchen und das Gesicht zu gestalten. Aber es hat Spaß gemacht. Ich habe nur keine Ahnung, was ich mit Rudi machen soll. Denn weil der Stoff so leicht ausfranst kann ich ihn auch nicht an ein Kind verschenken. Und ich bin ja so gar nicht der Typ, für Deko. Und habe schon genug Stofftiere….

I think what  took most time was creating the face and choosing material and buttons. But it was real fun making Rudi. the only problem is, that I have no idea what to do with him now. With the fraying fabric it is to fragile to give it to a child. And I am so much not the type for decorative stuff. Plus I already have more plushies than I need…
