One legged panty

Unterwäsche steht auch mal wieder auf dem Plan. Diesmal geht es mit einem “Reibeverhindererhöschen” los. (Der Schnitt ist immer noch das figurformende Panty von Marinique Langere aus Südafrika, die es aber nicht mehr zu geben scheint.)

It’s time for some underwear again. This time I am starting with an “anti chafe” panty. (The pattern is still the figure shaping panty from Marinique Langere in South Africa which seems not to exist any longer.)

Das hat diesmal zwei Besonderheiten. Zum einen hat es nur ein Bein, bzw. nur ein langes Bein. Wieso das? Nein, ich habe immer noch zwei Beine und die sind auch nach wie vor gleich lang (soweit wir Menschen halt symmetrisch sind…). Aber das Höschen soll unter diesem Rock getragen werden. Und der hat einen recht hohen Schlitz. Wodurch man, so ich nicht gerade blickdichte Strumpfhosen dazu trage, aber das Bein des Höschens sieht. Zwar habe ich mich um eine relativ unauffällig Farbe bemüht, aber eben nur relativ. Da es aber vom Prinzip her genügt, ein Bein einzupacken, um Reibung zu verhindern… habe ich einfach das Bein auf der “Schlitzseite” deutlich kürzer gemacht. Wir werden sehen, ob sich das so bewährt, wie es soll.

Now this time it has two “special” things. The first is that it has only one (long) leg. Why this? No, I still have two legs which are still of the same length (within the usual range of symmetry in humans). But I want to wear the panty under this skirt. Which has a high from opening. So without wearing thick pantyhose the anti-chafe panty will show. I tried to get fabric in an uobtrusive color, but still not unvisible. To prevent chafing though it is enough to cover one leg… so I shortend the pant on the side of the opening. We will see if that will do.

Die zweite Besonderheit (oder wenn es sich auch im Langzeittest bewährt Neuheit, denn das könnte ich beibehalten) ist, daß ich das Höschen komplett mit Bauschgarn auf der Nähmaschine genäht habe. Die Nähte verlaufen über die hintere Oberschenkelinnenseite und sind da nicht extrem bequem. Und als ich auf der Creativa am Alterfilstand vor dem Körbchen mit dem Bauschgarn in den netten Farben stand dachte ich mir… warum eigentlich nicht? Herr Amrhein (von Alterfil) meinte auch, daß das einen Versuch wert sein könnte. Und was soll ich sagen… Alterfil B120 Bauschgarn funktionert sowohl als Oberfaden als auch als Unterfaden prima auf meiner Nähmaschine. Knifflig ist nur das Einfädeln in die Nadel, denn Bauschgarn franst vorne natürlich aus… Ich habe einfach so viel durchgeschoben, wie ging, habe die neben der Nadel abstehenden Fäden abgeschnitten, energisch die nächsten Zentimeter in die Nadel gezogen, wieder nebenstehende Fäden abgeschnitten (das waren schon sichtbar weniger) und das so lange wiederholt, bis alle Fasern des Bauschgarnes im Nadelöhr waren. Hat mich so 20 cm Faden gekostet, aber das ist vertretbar. Auf so einem Miniking ist ja genug drauf. (Aber nicht zu viel, passt auch prima und ohne Anstände auf den Garnrollenhalter.)

The second speciality (or new technique, because if it passes the long time test I will continue to do so in the future) is that I used wooly nylon on my sewing machine (needle and bobbin) for the entire piece. The leg seams are running somewhere at the back inner thighs, a position that is not extremely comfortable when sewn with normal thread. So when I was standing in front of a basket with many nice colors of wooly nylon at the Alterfil booth on the Creativa I wondered… why not? And Mr Amrhein, the boss of Alterfil thought also it might be worth trying. To cut it short: Alterfil B120 works great on my sewing machine! Only difficult thing was threading the needle, because the thread of course frays a lot. So I tried to get most of the thread through the needle, pulled a bit, cut all thread parts that were outside the needle very close to the eye, pulled again, cut again what was still outside the eye (which was considerably less than the first time) and repeated that until all fibers were inside the eye. I “lost” maybe 20cm with that operation. No problem, there is enough thread on the Miniking cone. Though not too much… and the Minikings also fit nicely on the sewing machine.

Jetzt nähe ich dann erst mal alle anderen Teile außer dem BH, denn da werde ich wieder auf normales Nähgarn wechseln, zumindest für alle Teile, auf denen auch Zug drauf ist. Und erst dann werde ich das Bauschgarn aus der Nadel wieder ausfädeln. 😀

Now I will sew everything except the bra. Because there I will go back to normal sewing thread, at least for all parts that carry weight or need to resist pulling. And only just before that I will pull the wooly nylon out of the needle. 😀
