Der Jahresschal

One year, one shawl

12.03.2012 – 12.03.2013. Und mit dem Bild dann noch mal. Aber jetzt kann ich ihn zeigen.

From the day I’ ve cast on until the day I removed the pins from the blocked shawl it took exactly one year, 03/12/2012 until 03/12/2013. And then some more time until I got to taking a picture. But now I can show it.

Actually… you have seen this shawl more than once. It was featured on all my “Maschenkunst unterwegs” pictures from India.

The pattern is again from Victorian Lace Today, called “The Maltese Shawl” and was done in Silk Mohair yarn by Artyarns. Even though the pattern was not really difficult (needed a bit of concentration, but I could do it by heart quite quickly) I love the result. Only the edges are a bit “curly”. Our bed is only 2m long so I couldn’t block it properly lengthwise and had to block more widhtwise.

And since I’ve finally finished now I can obtain “permission” from myself to start the next one. Let’s see, which on it’s going to be…
