Tja, meine Rätsel sind im Zeitalter des Internet offensichtlich zu einfach. :o) Natürlich bin ich in Liege gewesen. Fee, ich glaube ich weiß, in welchem Wollladen du warst. Das war der, den ich mir verkniffen habe. Im Nachhinein betrachtet (so toll ist mein Orientierungssinn ja nicht…) war der nicht so weit.

Innenverarbeitung, NotlösungDer Plan für heute war, daß Capricorna kommt und mir die ansonsten weitgehend fertige Neckholder-Tunika absteckt.

Also habe ich heute noch schnell den Reißverschluß eingenäht und die restliche Rückennaht geschlossen.

Bei der Anprobe zeigte sich jedoch, daß das Oberteil vorne irgendwie gar garstig saß, obwohl ich es doch letzte Woche anprobiert hatten.

Todays plan was that Capricorna would come and help me to define the final length of my nearly finished neckholder tunic.

So I’ve sewn in the zipper today and closed the back seam.

But when I’ve tried it on the bust part looked just awfull, even though it did look nearly okay last week.

Ein bißchen Nachdenken brachte schnell die Lösung… Ich habe den BH zwischen Futter und Oberstoff eingenäht. Das Futter ist nicht elastisch, die BH-Körbchen schon. Und das feste Futter verhindert natürlich, daß sich meine Brust dann nicht in das Körbchen ausdehnen kann. Soweit die Idee.

Da ich aber keine Zeit für komplettes Auftrennen habe und außerdem Seide sich nicht gerne auftrennen läßt, ohne komplett auszufransen (und ich außerdem das Futter ja gerne haben möchte), habe ich zur Schere gegriffen und mutig die BH-Körbchen wieder freigelegt.

After a bit of thinking a had the solution…. The bra-cups are between the lining and the outer fabric. The lining is not elastic, the bra cups are.. so the lining prevents my breasts to “mold” into the cups. So far my idea…

As I do not have the time to rip everything and also silk with cut back seam allowances is no good idea because with fraying silk usually there isn’t much left to resew after ripping. So I took my scissors and made some courageous cuts to free the cups.

Das machte es schon besser, aber die rechte Seite warf immer noch Falten. (Das Körbchen, nicht der Oberstoff.) Warum?

Ich denke, das Powernet ist steifer als mein normaler BH-Stoff. Zusammen mit dem Schaumstoffpolster (nur rechts, um Größendifferenzen auszugleichen…) war die Naht einfach zu lang und daher wellig. Also mußte ich brutal werden, ein Schnitt hier, einer da… und mit viel Zickzackstich wieder zusammengetackert. Jetzt sieht das Innenleben aus wie Frankensteins Monster. Aber von außen ist es wieder okay.

Lektion für die Zukunft? Das nächste Mal baue ich den BH nicht ein, sondern nähe mir einfach einen Neckholder für drunter…

That was better. But still not good, there were wrinkles. (In the cup, not in the fabric.) Why?

Well, I’ve made the cups from powernet and that is stiffer than my normal bra fabric. So I think this caused the cup to be to big. So more cuts and very crude and quick sewing. Now the inside of my neckholder looks like Frankenstein’s creature… But from the outside it’s okay.

So what did I learn today’? Next time no build in bra, but I’ll just sew a normal neckholder bra instead.

zum TrocknenGestern hatte ich bei der Anpassung der Tunika ja tatkräftige Hilfe und weiß jetzt auch, wo der BH in der Tunika hin muß.

Weiterarbeiten kann ich im Moment allerdings nicht.

Ich muß warten. Ein sehr wichtiges Element trocknet vor sich hin. (Siehe Bild…)

Ein kleines Ratespiel gefällig? Nun… was zeigt das Bild?

Yesterday I had great halp to fit my neckholder tunic and especially the bra inside. I know the position of the bra between fabric and lining.

But I cannot work on.

I have to wait. A very important element has to dry. (See picture…)

Anyone wants to guess what it is? 😉

HoseAber so ganz untätig war ich nicht.

Ich habe heute die Hose fertig genäht. Es fehlen noch Knopfloch und Knopt, aber da bin ich mir noch nicht sicher, ob ich einen schlichten weißen nehme oder ob ich ihn zu der Jacke passend nehme. So ich die Jacke noch schaffe…

Und viel Arbeit mit dem Bügeleisen, aber das ist bei Leinen ja so zu erwarten…

But still I did some work today. (It’s a holiday in some parts of Germany…)

I’ve finished the pants. Only button an buttonhole are missing. But there I haven’t decided whether I’ll just take a plain one or one that is coordinated to the vest. The vest that only exists in my brain so far…

And a lot of ironing work. But it’s linen, so that was to be expected…

Wie sieht der Plan aus? Trocknen noch bis Sonntag. Dann habe ich Montag um die Tunika zu nähen, damit Mittwoch Capricorna den Saum abstecken kann. Bliebe mir der Donnerstag um eine Jacke zu nähen, für die ich noch nicht mal einen Schnitt erstellt habe…. Denn Freitag ist Kofferpacken und losfahren angesagt. Bei meiner Mutter steht zwar eine Nähmaschine, aber in welchem Zustand die sein mag…?

Es sei denn am Wochenende ist das Wetter schlecht. Dann würde der Ausflug den mein Herzblatt irgendwann machen will verschoben.

Ich weiß gerade nicht, was ich mir wünschen soll… :o)

So what’s the plan? Drying will take until sunday. So I’d have monday to sew the tunic (good joke already…) so Wednesday Capricorna can help me with the hem. Means there was Thursday left to make the pattern, cut and sew the vest. Well… Friday is packing my bag and catching my train. And at my mothers place is a sewing machine, but I’m not sure in what state it might be. My mother does not sew…

Unless we have bad weather on the weekend. Then the outing my darling is planing would not take place. At least not that weekend.

Well… I’m not sure what I should wish for… :o)

Innenleben und Grundlagen

Erst mal hallo Gabi! Du bist die dritte, die ein Geschenk von mir bekommen wird! (Da es “Pay it forward” und nicht “Pay back” heißt, würde ich das so interpretieren, daß du auch wieder drei Leute beschenken darfst! :o) ) Schickst du mir auch deine Adresse?

Allmählich frage ich mich, ob das mit dem Pay it forward eine gute Idee war… ich nähe ja vor allem Kleidung, und das bietet sich bei Leuten die man nicht kennt ja nicht so an. Noch eine Herausforderung mehr… ich hoffe, ich enttäusche euch drei nicht. *hüstel*

SchnitteileTrotz hinderlicher Umstände wie Arbeit habe ich an meinem Motivations-Outfit gearbeitet.

Der ursprüngliche Plan war, eine “BH-Schlinge” einzuarbeiten, wie in Threads mal beschrieben. Da es dazu ein paar Hände mehr braucht (vier sind nicht verkehrt…) haben Frau mhs und Capricorna versucht, diese Konstrunktion an meinem Körper passend zu stecken. (Nein, keine Photos…) Das funktionierte auch halbwegs, aber da die Konstruktion keine Sicherung nach hinten vorsieht, bleibt das beim Bewegen nicht an seinem Platz.

My original Plan was to make a build in “bra-sling” as described in Threads two years or so ago. This tasks needs some more hands (four are just a good idea…) so Frau mhs and Capricorna tried the pin fitting on my body. (No, no pics…) This worked out, somehow. But as this construcion has nothing to secure at the back it doen’t stay. At least not when I’m moving.

Eine Anprobe meines Probeteils über meinem “Normal-BH” ergab, daß der Rücken des Neckholders hoch genug ist, um das Rückenteil zu verdecken. Also kann ich einfach einen “Standard-BH” nähen und dem Neckholderträger verpassen. Und das ganze zwischen Oberstoff und Futter einnähen. So der Plan..

Den BH sieht man schon, die Körbchen sind aus festem Powernet, für die Rückenteile habe ich leichteres genommen. Fehlen noch Bügel und eben die Träger. Da weiß ich noch nicht genau, wie ich die schließen will. Bikini-Verschluß oder Haken und Ösen? Mal sehen… Das nette, wenn man einen “Einbau-BH” näht ist, daß er nicht schön werden muß, funktional reicht…

Putting on the musslin over my “standard bra” revealed that the back is high enough to cover the backof the bra. So I can just sew a normal bra with neckholders instead of normal straps. And sew in that between fabric and lining. That’s the plan.

The bra is nearly finished as the picture shows. For the cups I used firm powernet, for the back lighter one. So wire is missing and the straps of course. I’m not sure how I want to close them… bikini-closure? Hook and eye? We’ll see. What is nice about a “build-in bra” is that it does not have to look nice, it just has to work…

Den Schnitt für die Tunika mußte ich auch mal wieder gewaltig anpassen. Am Rücken habe ich drei Zentimeter in der Mitte gekürzt, zur Seite hin verlaufend auf einen Zentimeter. Den habe ich dann auch am oberen Vorderteil rausgenommen.

Vom Taillenteil ist nicht mehr viel übrig… vier Zentimeter, zwei an der Seite. Und die zwei Zentimeter müssen auch im vorderen Taillenteil raus. Bei so kurzen Teilen bleibt da nicht viel.

Die “Rockteile” habe ich eine Nummer größer zugeschnitten. 22W und zur Hüfte hin auf 24W erweitert. Das an das Taillenteil in Größe 20W hinzubasteln wird noch interessant. Seide kann man ja nicht gut einhalten. Außerdem habe ich sie um zehn Zentimeter verlängert, das entspricht grob dem was ich im Ganzen oben weggenommen habe. Und ein bißchen Spielraum, kürzen geht ja immer…

After the fitting of the musslin I had to do a lot of alteration to the pattern. The back had to be shortened by 3cm in the middle, tapering to 1 cm on the side. This centimeter I’ve also taken out on the front.

HoseAs far as the midriff is concerned…. there isn’t much left… shortened by 4cm in the middle back, tapering to two on the side. And also shortening the front midriff by 2cm. As the midriff isn’t two long anyhow there doesn’t rest much…

The “skirt” (the pattern just calls these pieces “front” and “back” but I’ll refer to them as skirt, because it looks like that) I had to retrace in a bigger size 22W to 24W an the hips. I hope that’ will be enough. How I’ll get that on the 20W mdriff I don’t know. Easing silk ist not so… doable… Also I’ve lengthened these pieces by 10cm, that is about what I’ve taken out on the upper part. If it sould be to much.. shortening is always possible…

Jetzt kann ich also eigentlich ans Zuschneiden gehen. Immerhin mit dem beruhigenden Gefühl, daß Silvia noch ein bißchen von dem Stoff hat. Wenn ich es versaubeutle, dann kann ich noch mal nachkaufen… (Pongeseide als Futter und Seidenchiffon um die Taille zu unterlegen habe ich heute auch gekauft. Das muß ich allerdings noch vorwaschen, denn die Tunika soll hinterher maschinenwaschbar sein.

Now I can start cutting. Knowing that there is still some of that fabric left in the shop. So if I mess it up I can at least “re-buy”… (I’ve also bought some ponge silk as lining and silk organza to underline the midriff.But that will have to be prewashed before. The finished garmnt is intended to be machine washable.

Und zum Schluß noch einen Blick auf die Hose. Die Seitennaht braucht die zweite Naht der Kappnaht, dann der Reißverschluß, Schrittnaht, Bund und dann war’s das schon. Oder so… Könnte noch klappen.

Die Jacke hingegen ist nur eine Idee in meinem Kopf..

Here’s a look at the pants. The flat felled inner leg seam needs the second stitching, after that it is the zipper, the croth seam and the waist. Just little nothings. More or less…

As far as the jacket is concerned… that is no more than an idea in my head…

Motivation, schon wieder unter Druck

Ich scheine das zu brauchen… *g* Oder so…

Stoff und SchnittEigentlich ist dieser Motivationsmonat wirklich wie für mich gemacht, Neckholder war ein Thema das ich vorgeschlagen hatte, denn der Schnitt von Simplicity (4277) liegt schon seit etwa zwei Jahren bei mir herum und der Stoff, eine traumhafte italienische Seide von Scherzkeks-Stoffe in Aachen, nicht viel kürzer.

The “motivation of the month” is just made for me… A neckholder top was actually one of my suggestions and I am very happy it was chosen. The pattern from Simplicity (4277) I own for about two years, the beautifull silk fabric from Scherzkeks Stoffe in Aachen I’ve purchesed not much later than the pattern. So not too early to sew it up…

Und natürlich gibt es auch wieder einen Termin, ich will das Top zu meinem 20jährigen Klassentreffen tragen. Das ist am 30. Mai, also gut schaffbar. Im Prinzip.

Jedoch will ich für das Top auch probieren, gleich einen BH einzubauen. In Threads war da mal eine Anleitung. Da brauche ich allerdings Hilfe. Und Frau mhs hatte diese Woche keine Zeit. Und dann ist sie irgendwann im Urlaub…. ohne den “Unterbau” kann ich aber auch den Schnitt nicht anpassen…

Andererseits sollte das Nähen an sich nicht so lange dauern.

Allerdings… was trage ich zu einem türkis-weißen Neckholder Top? Eine weiße Hose wäre doch perfekt, oder? Habe ich aber nicht. Und auch sonst keine, die dazu passen würde. *hüstel* Dafür habe ich mir das weiße Leinen in Paris gekauft, da kann ich meinen Jeans-Schnitt vom März gleich noch mal verwenden. Heißt allerdings: zwei Teile diesen Monat.

Und wenn ich jetzt darüber nachdenke… Wo ich hinfahre ist nicht die wärmste Gegend Deutschlands. Ende Mai im Neckholder könnte etwas kühl sein. Ein kleines Jäckchen oder ein Shrug wäre eine gute Idee. Habe ich natürlich auch nicht. Reichen würde das Leinen wohl, denn der Stoff ging trotz 60°C Wäsche kaum ein. Und ich habe drei Meter gekauft.

Drei Teile für einen Monat. Und der ist schon fast zu einem Drittel vorbei. Sollte ich das schaffen, wäre das mein persönlicher Rekord…

Of course I have a due date again… May, 30th is my 20th “end of school” anniversary. End of the month sounds quite doable, doesn’t it?

Only… what to wear with it? White pants would be nice… only I don’t have any. So I’ve bought the white linen in Paris and I’m intending to reuse my jeans pattern from March. So two pieces in one month. Quite a lot for me…

And if I come to think about it… the part of Germany where I’m going to is not the warmest one. So something to cover my shoulders would be a good idea, a tiny jacket or a shrug or something. Fabric shouldn’t be the problem, I’ve purchased 3m of the linen and it hardly did shrink even though I’ve washed it hot.

Three pieces in one month. And a month that is nearly a third ober. Should I make that… it would be my record…..

SeidenstoffNachdem ich also im Moment nichts tun kann, noch mal einen ganz genauen Blick auf den Stoff. Ist er nicht genial? Er ist nicht nur bedruckt, nein, die Basis ist ein eingewobenes Paisley-Muster.

Hineinschneiden wird hart…

Since I cannot start (I want to make the top with a build-in bra, as described in an older threads article and to make that I need helping hands. Only Frau mhs didn’t have time this week and then she’ll probably be on holiday…) a closer look an the fabric.It’s the most beautiful silk I’ve ever owned. It’s not only a print, no the basic fabric is a woven paisley pattern.

Cutting into this fabric will be hard…

Trotzdem war ich nicht ganz untätig.

Ich habe ein Probeteil zugeschnitten und genäht. Dabei auch den ersten Fehler entdeckt. Für die Zutatenliste habe ich die französische gewählt, denn die ist metrisch. Was dort nicht steht ist, daß man ein Futter braucht. Stattdessen steht dort “dentelle”, was Spitze bedeutet. Nicht daß ich nicht ohnehin Futter eingearbeitet hätte…. aber in der Liste steht es nicht. (Die englische Seite ist aber korrekt, da heißt es “lining”.)

Auch den “Einbau-BH” habe ich vorbereitet. Da ich keine fertigen BH-Schalen verwenden kann wie in der Anleitung, habe ich mir aus festem Powernet Körbchen genäht.

Und auch das Leinen für die Hose ist schon zugeschnitten. Mal sehen, was sich über das Wochenende tut…

Still I was not doing nothing.

I’ve cut and sewn a musslin for the top. I also detected the first mistake… for the list of fabrics and notions I’ve used the french side of the list, because this already is metric. What is not in the list is the lining. Instead of it mentiones lace (“dentelle” in French). I hadn’t payd attention to that, because I did not intend to use lacy decoration…. but it means the lining. (The english side is correct.) And of course I would have made a lining anyhow. But it’s not in the list…)

I also prepared my “build-in-bra”. The instructions in Threads uses purchased cups, I’ve sewn my own of a firm powernet. (My size doesn’t exist in ready made cups…)

And I’ve cut the linen for the pants. So let’s see what will happen over the weekend…
