Exotic christmas cookies

Zumindest habe ich bei der Suche nach Zutaten den Eindruck bekommen. Selbst im großen und ansonsten got sortieren Supermarkt wurde ich nicht fündig. Also nächster Versuch in der Apothke.

Die mußten erst mal rausfinden, was das ist.

Und dann bestellen.

Allerdings hatte es der Großhändler auch nicht vorrätig, weswegen es erst mit der Nachtlieferung für heute Morgen kam.

Seems that my christmas cookies must be something highly exotic. At least I got that impression when I tried to buy the ingredients. They didn’t have it in the supermarket (and I went to a big on which in general has a lot of things.)

Then I tried the pharmacie.

It took them a while to figure out what I wanted, but then they promised delivery the same day. This was before they fount out even their dealer didn’t have it on stock.

So I finally got it that morning.

Was ich außergewöhnliches wollte?

Pottasche, für Honiggebäck.

Vermutlich sollte man im Rheinland einfach nicht nach dem Bayerischen Kochbuch kochen… 😉

What the unusual ingredient was?

Simply potassium carbonate for gingerbread.

Maybe one shouldn’t make recipes from the Bavarian Cookbook in the Rhineland… 😉
