Maschenkunst unterwegsGruß an die Maschenkunst aus Hannover.

Immer noch mit den Socken aus Socks’ Wool Lucca von Schewe und AlterfilS 150. Inzwischen aber natürlich die zweite Socke…

(Ich habe ja oft das Gefühl, ich bekomme deswegen zuhause nicht so viel geschafft, wie ich möchte, weil ich ständig unterwegs bin. Wenn ich mir das so ansehe… ich bin ständig unterwegs.)

Knitting is still socks (second sock though) from Socks’ Wool Lucca from Schewe and AlterfilS 150.

(Over the last years I often had the impression I don’t get enough things done at home because I am constantly away. If I look on all those pictures… it might not only be an impression.)

Maschenkunst unterwegs

Da Daniela es wieder geschafft hat, ihre Seite auf den aktuellen Stand zu bringen, schiebe ich wieder was nach. 😉

Diesmal war meine Socke (aus Socks’ Wool Lucca von Schewe von Karstadt und AlterfilS150) in Belgien unterwegs, in der Provinz Liège.

(Und die Maschenkunst in Form der Postkarte. 🙂 )

Since Daniela finally managed to update her site I can add more… 😉

This time my sock (made of Socks’ Wool Lucca by Schewe, purchased at Karstadt and AlterfilS150) did travel to the province of Liège in Belgium.

(And Maschenkunst was allowed to share the event as a postcard. 🙂 )

Maschenkunst unterwegsJa, so eine Socke kommt rum. Auch auf der RER durfte sie fahren und kam damit bis Chaville. Und das Maschenkunst Logo hält sie hier gut fest.

Maschenkunst unterwegsWas bei Bildern aus Paris natürlich nicht fehlen darf ist der Eiffelturm.

No pics from Paris without Eiffel tower, of course.

Diesen durften also meine Socken aus Schewes “Socks’ Wool Lucca” (und Alterfil S150 Nähgarn, in der Hoffnung, die Socken so reißfester zu bekommen) auch sehen und zumindest in Form des Logos war auch die Maschenkunst dabei. 🙂

So my socks from Schewe’s “Socks’ Wool Lucca” (plus Alterfil S150 sewing thread, because I am still trying to make the socks more sturdy for my brother’s special destroying forces) got this view also, together with the Maschenkunst label.

Nein, meine Stola ist nicht fertig, aber da die Weihnachtssaison naht, habe ich ein dringenderes Werk begonne. Socken. (Außerdem merkt sich das Bordürenmuster der Stola nicht so gut und damit ist sie zum Reisen ohnehin weniger geeignet.)

No, my shawl isn’t finished yet but Christmas is getting closer, so I started a more urgent project. Socks. (Also the border pattern of the shawl doesn’t memorize that well so it is less suitable for travel knitting.)

Mein Bruder hat die, die er im März bekam schon wieder kaputt gemacht (am Schaft, bitteschön!) und neue “bestellt”. Und eben jene sind das langweilig graue, was hinter dem Maschenkunst-Label hervorlugt. Garn ist diesmal Sock’s Wool Lucca von Schewe, gekauft bei Karstadt, ich denke mal im Sonderangebot. Muster wird wie meistens selbst improvisiert.

My brother already “killed” (on the leg/cuff part!) the socks he got in March, so he “ordered” the next pair for Christmas. And that is the boring grey stuff you can see peeking from behind the Maschenkunst Logo. Yarn is Socks’ Wool Lucca from Schewe this time, purchased at Kaufhof, probably when it was on sale. Pattern is my improvisation as mostly for socks.

Karamell (Slipper socks)

Füßlinge mit LochmusterUnd noch mal Füßlinge, diesmal in einer luftigen Version mit kleinen Löchern, aber auch ganz einfach zu stricken.

More slipper socks/ liners. This time with cute and airy eylets, but also very easy to knit.

Als Garn waren diesmal etwa 35g “Meilenweit Cotton 50 Uni” von Lana Grossa am Start, die ich im Frühjahr bei Wolle Rödel in Bayreuth gefunden hatte.

Der Farbton kommt auf den Bildern nicht gut rüber, aber er hat den Namen inspiriert.

FüßlingeYarn is this time from Lana Grossa, “Meilenweit Cotton 50 Solid” and I had found it as a 50g skein at Wolle Rödel in Bayreuth.

The pics don’t do the color justice, but it’s the color of the yarn that inspired the name of the pattern.

Wer sie nachstricken mag findet hier findet hier die Anleitung für “Karamell”. Ich hoffe, es sind nicht zu viele Fehler drin…

Charitysocks

SockenManchmal möchte man Socken stricken ohne daß man die Größe des Empfängers genau kennt. Oder vielleicht sind die Socken für ein Hilfsprojekt gedacht, bei dem vorher gar nicht klar ist, wer sie bekommt.

Sometimes you want to knit socks for someone without knowing the size exactly. Or maybe you knit for charity where know one knows in advance who the recipient might be.

Nun sind Socken ohnehin dehnbar und können sich durchaus ein wenig dem Fuß anpassen, aber wenn man Rippen geschickt einsetzt, bekommt man Modelle, die etwa über fünf Größen hinweg passen. 🙂

Socks do stretch anyhow and will adapt the foot, but if you use ribbing the right way you can make socks that can fit over about five sizes. 🙂

SockenDie Anleitung umfasst die Größen M (36-39), L (39-43)  und XL (42-47). Auf den Bildern sind M die roten Socken, L die geringelten und XL die grauen mit den bunten Spitzen und Fersen.

The pattern includes sizes M (German size 36-39), L (39-43) and XL (42-47). On the pics you see red socks in M, striped socks in L and gray socks with blue in XL.

Die Füße die drin stecken haben von links nach rechts: 2x Gr. 39, 2x Gr 42 und der letzte Fuß hat Gr. 47.

SockenThe feet in the socks are from left to right: 1x size 39, 2 x size 42 and the last foot is size 47.

Slightly skewed…

Sneaker SockeNeben den ganzen dicken Sachen sind auch noch sehr sommerliche Sneaker Socken fertig geworden.

Besides all that thick stuff I also finished some summer sneaker socks.

Ein bißchen Zopf und viel Lochmuster dazwischen. Sehr luftig.

Auf der Sohle dann ein Streifen im rechts-links Muster, der sich zur Ferse hoch zieht.

Garn ist “Opal Petticoat Cotton” von Zwerger, auch das habe ich in der Maschenkunst gefunden.

Sneaker SockeA bit of cable and a lot of netting between. Very airy.

On the sole a stripe in knit stitches that runs up the heel.

Yarn is “Opal Petticoat Cotton” from Zwerger which I’ve purchased at Maschenkunst.

So ganz habe ich beim Stricken allerdings nicht nachgedacht, das Lochmuster zieht sich schräg in eine Richtung. Man kann sie tragen, aber die Idee muß ich noch mal überarbeiten…

But I did not think properly when planning the pattern. The lace part “skews” the sock in one direction. They are wearable but the idea needs some further work….
