Mütze TortoraTheoretisch stricke ich ja systematisch ein Teil nach dem anderen.

Theoretically I am knitting one piece after the other.

Praktisch kam die Herbst Knitty raus und ich mußte diese Mütze haben. Das war die Mütze, auf die ich seit Jahren gewartet habe, die Mütze, die mir wirklich gefällt und die ich tragen werde.

Und bei dem Juli Wetter war eine Alpaca Mütze stricken absolut okay.

What happened in real was that Knitty First Fall was out and I had to make this hat. That’s the hat I have been waiting for for years, the hat I really liked and the hat I would wear.

And since July was cold knitting an alpaca hat felt perfectly okay.

Garn ist “Alpaca Andes” von katia aus der Maschenkunst, gestrickt mit 4er Nadelspiel.

Da ich die Anweisungen für Garn und Maschenprobe etwas verwirrend fand, habe ich die nötige Anzahl der Maschen aus bisherigen Mützen interpoliert, habe zwei Rapporte in der Weite zugefügt und an verschiedenen Stellen immer wieder eine Reihe mehr gemacht, um auf die passende Höhe zu kommen.

Und bin mit meinem Ergebnis sehr zufrieden. 🙂

The yarn I’ve used is “Alpaca Andes” by katia, purchased at Maschenkunst and knit with 4mm needles.

I’ve found the instructions regarding yarn, gauge and size of needles a bit confusing and partially contradictory, so I choose the yarn I liked, guessed the number of stitches and got away with it. I had to add to repeats of the pattern for the right circumference and I added several rounds here and there to get the right height.

And I am happy with my result. 🙂

Ein kleines bißchen Lace…

A Little Bit of Lace…

Lace Schal.. geht immer.

… is never wrong.

Sprich während der eine Schal aufs Spannen wartete, habe ich natürlich ein neues Lace Projekt angeschlagen.

So while the scarf was waiting to be blocked I had already started the next lace project.The pattern will only be visible after blocking, but I am into repeat 19 of 40, so I am nearly halfway through.

Man erkennt auf dem Bild zwar noch nichts vom Muster, aber von den 40 Rapporten habe ich schon 18 und ein bißchen.

“Myrtle Leaf Shawl with Willow Border” aus Victorian Lace Today soll es werden. Diesmal in schwarz, wie das Original. (Ja,machmal kann ich mich auch an die Anleitung halten…) Als Garn habe ich mir wieder Isager Alpaca 1 in der Maschenkunst ausgesucht, damit habe ich ja schon mal gute Erfahrungen gemacht.

Bis diese Stola fertig ist, wird es allerdings noch dauern, es sind ja noch etliche andere Projekte zu machen, gerade vor Weihnachten.

This time it’s the “Myrtle Leaf Shawl with Willow Border” from Victorian Lace Today.In black, like it’s in the book. Yes, sometimes I can follow instructions. Yarn is Isager Alpaca 1 from Maschenkunst, I’ve already used it once and had liked it.

But it will take quite awhile before this will be finished, because there are a lot of other projects waiting to be made, especially before christmas.

Die Spitze bekommt Spitzen

Pointy Lace

Spitze an LacestolaNachdem der Pulli endlich fertig war, konnte ich mich wieder meiner grauen Stola widmen.

Und bin somit auch beim Rand angekommen, der ja direkt angestrickt wird. Im Moment sieht er noch recht krumpelig aus, aber das wird sich beim Spannen geben. (Hoffe ich zumindest, mit reinem Alpakagarn habe ich noch nie Lace gestrickt…)

Since the sweater for my friend was finally finished I had more time for my shawl.

And so I’ve finished the shawl itself and started the knit on border. The triangles still look not very pointy yet but that will block out. (At least I hope so, I’ve never done lace in alpaca yarn.)

Aber das bedeutet noch etwas anderes… ich darf mein neues Projekt planen, Wolle dafür kaufen (Ich werde etwas von meinem Vorrat verwenden, da das aber nur für einen halben Pulli reichen wird, muß ich noch zukaufen.) und schon mal Maschenproben stricken. Denn der Pulli wird ein eigener Entwurf, als Basis will ich einen Shirtschnitt benutzen, der zumindest aus Jersey gut paßt. Und das muß ich dann nach der Maschenprobe komplett umrechnen.

So komplett habe ich das glaube ich noch nie gemacht… es wird also auch technisch ein spannedes Project für mich. (Oder vor allem technisch, das Muster wird eher schlicht.)

But this also means something else… I am “permitted” to plan the next project and to buy wool for it. I’ll be using some from my stash but they alone won’t be enough so I’ll have to buy some more. And then I’ll have to start swatching because the sweater will be made after a tnt pattern for knitted shirts and I’ll have to calculate everything after the swatches.

I think I never did that for a whole sweater, so this will at least be a technical challenge for me. (The design on the other side will be quite simple.)
