Ich mache ja selten bei Wichtelaktionen mit, aber kürzlich hatte ich mal wieder Lust. Und Lacegarn ist ein schönes Thema und brauchen kann man es auch immer. 🙂

I am not taking part in swaps very often, but I felt like it again. And Lace yarn is a loverly topic and I can never have too much lace yarn. 🙂

Päckchen Okay, meine Wichtelmum hat wirklich gründlich verpackt… alles noch mal einzeln in Geschenkpapier. Und was für eine süße Karte!

Okay, my swap partner had really packed well… wrapping paper for each item. Und what a cute card!

Inhalt des Päckchens Der Inhalt war dann wirklich umwerfend. Das Paket kam aus Erfurt, was von der Gegend, aus der ich stamme nur knapp 200km entfernt ist. Trotzdem war ich da nie, denn als ich da noch gelebt habe, konnte man da nicht so einfach hinfahren. Eiserner Vorhang und so…

What was inside was really great. The packet came from Erfort, which is less than 200km from the region I grew up. But I’ve never been there, because while I was living there, you could not just go there. Iron curtain and such…

Besonders toll finde ich ja die Kerze als Wollknäuel. Aber Schokolade mit Sesam hatte ich auch noch nicht, auf die bin ich schon gespannt. (Ich habe nur gerade so viel angepackten Süßkram und diverse Geburtstagskuchen, daß die erst mal zu bleibt.) Und wirklich überwältigt war ich vom Garn: 10 Knäuel oder 4000m Merino Lace von Lana Grossa. Ich wollte doch schon lange mal eine Jacke oder so aus Lace Garn… Mal sehen, wann das was wird.

I think what I nearly loved most was the candle in a shape of a wool skein. But also chocolate with sesam… I love both and never tasted that. (I managed not to eat it right away, because I had so many sweets and several birthday cakes around.) And I was really thrilled by the yarn: 10 skeins or 4000m of Merino Lace by Lana Grossa. I had been thinking about a cardi or something from lace yarn… Let’s see when…

Like every year: hurting feet…

Genau, es ist mal wieder Creativa in Dortmund. Diesmal eine Halle mehr… Meine Berichterstattung steht diesmal auf der Hobbyschneiderin24-Seite.

Yes, it is again Creativa time in Dortmund. This time one hall more…. My report is this time on the Hobbyschneiderin24 site. (Only in German, but there are a lot of pictures.)

Einkäufe
Ich gucke ja mehr, als daß ich kaufe, aber ganz einkaufsabstinent war ich nicht. Wie man sieht, habe ich meine “Glückstüte” von Kafka schon ausgepackt und gebügelt. (Ich nenne es “Glückstüte”, weil schon die Spannung und das Auspacken, was wohl drin ist Glücksgefühle erzeugt. Die Bänder zu verwenden um so mehr.) Diesmal sind viele Motive dabei, die ich noch nicht habe und es sind auch viele lange Stücke. Und das schöne dunkelblaue Rosenband mußte gleich in größerer Menge mit. 🙂 Von Zürcher Stalder aus der Schweiz stammen die zwei schönen Spulen mit Merino Garn. 1500m ist eine gute Menge für Lace. (Die haben so viele Farben… ich hätte am Liebsten alle mitgenommen… 😉 ) Und beim Handarbeitsprofi habe ich nicht nur Michael vom Arbeiten abgehalten, sondern einen Einsatz gekauft, um auch Plastik-Snaps mit meiner Variozange reindrücken zu können. Mal sehen, ob die auch für die KamSnaps funktioniert….

Im go there more for inspiration and watching not so much for shopping. But still… some things came with me. You can see that I already unwrapped and pressed my “bag of happiness” from Kafka. (Oficially it’s a grab bag, but it makes me always happy to unpack it and see what’s in. And then it makes me happy again when I am using the ribbons.) This time a got a lot of motives I did not have yet and there were many long pieces in my bag. And then I had to buy several meters of the rose on navy background. 😉 From Zürcher Stalder in Switzerland I got those two spools of 2ply merino. 1500m/100g is a good length for a lace yarn. And they have so many colors and hues… I would have liked to buy them all!. Handarbeitsprofi is a booth where I always go to talk to Michael. Bu I also purchased the tool to use my Prym vario pliers with plastic snaps. So we’ll see if they are compatible with Kam Snaps…

Außerdem kamen noch zwei Haarkämme aus Südafrika dazu, die sind aber im Haar und deswegen nicht im Bild. 😀

I also got hair combs from South Africa. But they are in my hair, not on the picture. 😀

Die Messe geht noch bis Sonntag…

Lace GarnAuf dem Ravelry Treffen 2013 in Köln habe ich mir zwei schöne Kammzüge von Lana Passion (Merino/ Tencel) gegönnt.

On the 2013 Ravelry Meeting in Cologne I’ve purchased fiber from Lana Passion (Merino/Tencel).

Nun gibt es zwei Arten, wie ich “buntes” Garn mag, entweder als seeeehr langen Farbverlauf oder ganz “durchmischt”. Beides findet man aber als feines Lace Garn nicht in so wahnsinnig großer Auswahl (und wenn, dann nicht in Farben, die mir gefallen.)

Now there are two ways I like “multicolor” yarn, either with veeeery long color runs or completely “mixed” so you have no real pattern at all. Both is not so easily available as lace yarn. (And if, the not in colors I like.)

Jetzt kann ich aber nicht wirklich spinnen und schon gar nicht so fein, da trifft es sich gut, daß Angelika gerade ihre Spinn- und Web-Werkstatt “Spinn!Webe!” angemeldet hat und meinen “Auftrag” entgegen genommen hat. Im Austausch gegen einige Tage Paris mit persönlicher Führung durch mich an alle möglichen textil-interessanten Orte. Irgendwie habe ich das Gefühl, ich habe hier den besseren Schnitt gemacht… 😉

Now my spinning abilites are not very good not to talk about spinning lace. So it is great that Angelika just started her spinning and weaving business “Spinn!Webe!” and took my “job”. Swapping against some days in Paris with myself as a guide to a lot of interesting places for textile lovers. Somehow I think it’s me who got out more of the swap… 😉

Ich freue mich schon drauf, das Garn zu verstricken. Es ist fester gesponnen als Lace-Garne meistens und das Gestrick sollte somit eine schöne Definition bekommen. Wie es sich verhält, wenn es mal nass war, wird auch spannend… Die ersten Maschenproben sind schon auf der Nadel!

I am looking forward knitting it. It is tighter spun than most lace yarns are and should give a nice definition to the stitches and the pattern. It will also be thrilling how the yarn will behave once it will be relaxed in water… The first swatches are already on the needle!
