Sommerlicher Nadelblick: Juni 2018

Fresh from the needles June 2018

Still not too much time for sewing, but underwear are quick projects, so I am about to sew my second bra from the pale pink fabric. Since at the moment the weather is longer hot than for three days in a row (followed by something like two weeks or a year of cold weather…) it became quite evident that the number of bras in lighter hues (that are not about to fall apart) is quite limited at the moment. So I will use the fabric to make some more as long as I have enough material. Since I did cut a part of the lace wrongly for the cami I don’t have much lace left, so that is only enough for a small accent of lace.

My “Morning Dove Shawlette” is nearly finished but at the same time as far away from finished as any project could be. How comes? Well… the shawlette is cute, but since I took smaller needles (where the stitches looked best to me) it is not only very small… even worse it used only a bit more than half of the yarn. My intention was to make the best use possible from the lovely “Maravillosa” by Dibadu Funnies. So… I am going to frog it completely and knit something different from the yarn. (Also the border does not completely convince me… but that is probably a solvable problem.)

The mittens from April have been finished and from the remnants of the remnant (“Merino Kid” by Shibui Knits) I am knitting I am knitting very small lace gauntlets. Combining the yarn with another remnant (“Del Cerro” by Aslan Trends). The pattern is Green Gauntlets by Mags Williamson. Only much shorter, due to yarn shortage.

Also I have socks on my needles. Yet another try to make self stripeying yarn into something interesting. The pattern are the Tipsy Toe Socks by Sybil R. The yarn is “Cotton Kolibri Color” by Schachenmayr Regia. What you buy when the price is good… and for the feet all colors are bascially okay.

And that’s it. No book at the moment. I’ve profited from my last trip to Paris to finish the book from april and another one. When I came home everything was swamped by magazines I’ve subscribed to. Now I am busy reading those…
