(Nearly) Knitting in Public
So ganz öffentlich war unser Stricktreff in der Maschenkunst zum heutigen WWKIP Tag (Tag des weltweiten Strickens in der Öffentlichkeit) ja nicht. Denn wir saßen drinnen im Wollladen.
Auf die vor der Tür aufgestellte Bank haben wir angesichts der immer wieder heftigen Regenschauer dankend verzichtet, innen war es gemütlicher. (Wie man sieht.)
Und auch wenn wir die Tür offen hatten… so wirklich öffentlich war es nicht.
Our meeting at Maschenkunst for the WWKIP Day was not really public. Because we sat inside the shop.
Due to partially heavy rain no one wanted to sit outside on the bank in front of the store… as you can see on the pic we were more comfy inside. And even though the door was mostly open… inside a shop is not really a public place.
Denn so einfach ist das nicht. Zumindest in Deutschland wollen Behörden in Städten in der Regel Geld für die Genehmigung öffentlich zu Stricken (wenn man es vorher Plakatieren und Ankündigen will, was ja Sinn der Sache ist) und außerdem muß ein kostenloses Klo in der Nähe sein. Und das… mag in den USA gut funktionieren, in den meisten Ländern Europas kann man entweder eine Toilette haben oder es kann kostenlos sein. 😀 (Korrektur: Ich sehe, die Bedingung mit der kostenlosen Toilette ist auf der offiziellen Webseite nicht mehr zu finden. Da hat wohl doch mal jemand den Realitätscheck gemacht…)
Because it’s not so easy to organize a really public knitting. Many cities want money if you want to organize a knitting in a public place and then the official rules claim that there has to be a free toilet nearby. That might work in the US, but in most European countries you can either have it for free or you can have a public bathroom. 😀 (Edit: I just checked the offical website for the WWKIP Day, they removed that condition. Someone did a reality check…)
Wobei das der Guten Laune keine Abbruch tat.
Oder schaut Frau Maschenkunst (aka Daniela Johannsenova) nur deswegen so fröhlich, weil sie diese Kiste mit wunderschönem Artyarns für sich selber verarbeiten will? Ne, Daniela, so geht das nicht! Laß mir auch noch was! 😉
But all that did not stop us from having fun!
Or does Frau Maschenkunst (aka Daniela Johannsenova) only look so happy, because she wants do use the whole box of beautifl Artyarns all by herself? O no, Daniela, you wont do that! Leave some for me! 😉
