400 Hexagons…
Häkeldecke… etwa 6 Kilometer Garn und etwa drei Jahre und neun Monate Häkeln hat es gedauert. Aber jetzt ist meine Häkeldecke fertig und ich liebe sie. Ein einmaliges Stück und es war die Mühe wert.

… about 6 kilometers of yarn and about three years and nine months of crocheting was what it took to create this blanket. But it’s finished now and I love it. Really a unique piece and worth doing it.

Zur Zusammenfassung: es waren zwei verschiedene Häkelmotive (Nummer 30 und Nummer 54) aus dem Buch Beyond the Square von Edie Eckman und die verwendeten Garne waren “Boulino”, “Mystik” und “Samoa” von GGH, “Linen” von Katia, “Basics Capello” von Lana Grossa, “Morena” (in zwei Farben) von Schachenmayr nomotta,”Melange” von Zarina sowie “Bea” von Zettl. 400 Hexagons ergeben eine Decke von etwa 150cm x 200cm und fürs Zusammenhäkeln habe ich ziemlich genau vier Knäuel gebraucht.

To sum it up: I were two different crochet motifs (30 and 54) from the book Beyond the Square by Edie Eckman. The yarns I used were Boulino”, “Mystik” and “Samoa” by GGH, “Linen” by Katia, “Basics Capello” by Lana Grossa, “Morena” (in two colors) by Schachenmayr nomotta,”Melange” by Zarina and “Bea” by Zettl. 400 Hexagons make a blanket in the size 150cm x 200cm. Crocheting all the hexagons together took four skeins of yarn.

Die Garne sind nicht ganz gleich dick und die beiden Motive haben nicht die gleiche Maschenzahl, aber durch die Verwendung unterschiedlich starker Häkelnadeln und durch etwas Recken und Bügeln vor dem Zusammenhäkeln gleicht sich das am Ende aus, die Decke liegt flach. 🙂

The yarns do not all have the same weight and the motifs I choose do not have the same number of stitches. But by using crochet hooks of different sizes and then stretching and pressing the patches before attaching them it all evened out in the end. The blanket lays flat. 🙂

übrige Häkelteile Jetzt sind noch 80 Hexagons und etwa 600g verschiedener Garne übrig. Mal sehen, ob ich das irgendwie los werde…. Denn nein, ich mag keine gehäktelten Sofakissen…

Now I have about 80 hexagons and nearly 600g of different yarns left. Let’s see how I can get rid of those… Because no, I do not want grannie cushions.

What is left behind…

Wolle und gehäkelte HexagonsAlso um genau zu sein was übrig bleibt. Ich habe an meiner endlosen Häkeldecke jetzt noch 25 Fäden am Rand zu vernähen. (Was sehr sorgfältig geschehen muß, denn in der Decke sind ungefähr 7 Kilometer Garn und sie wiegt über zweieinhalb Kilo, die Verbindungen am Rand müssen also im Zweifelsfall das Gewicht tragen können.) Somit ist klar, was übrig ist. 84 Hexagons und gut 12 Knäuel Garn.

So that is what is left from my Grannie Afghan. (Or blanket or plaid or whatever… I never know what means exactly what…). What is left to do is about 25 thread ends to weave in at the border. (Whoich needs to be done extremely carefully, because the thing used around 7km of yarn and weighs more than 2.5kg. So the connections at the border need to be stabile enough to carrie all the weigh.) So I know what is left, 84 crocheted hexagons and about 14 skeins of yarn.

Mal sehen, wie ich das los werde…

I’ll have to see how to get rid of it…

Diesen Monat sind es wirklich Einblicke, weil die Arbeiten eher an den Innenseiten passieren.

Insights this month, because a lot of work is going on inside of the projects.

Jackenteile mit "Korsett" aus Rosshaarleinen Als Nähprojekt steht meine Jacke wieder alleine da. Die Reißverschlüsse sind gekommen und da mein Stoff sehr weich ist, Metallreißverschlüsse aber schwer, bekommt die Jacke an allen Öffnungen für Reißverschlüsse (also auch Taschen und Ärmelschlitze) eine Art “Korsett” aus schräg geschnittenen Streifen Rosshaarleinen. Diese muß ich leider von Hand aufhexen… Was schneller gehen würde, wenn man nicht einen Streifen wieder ganz abtrennen muß, weil einem auffällt, daß der Reißverschluss doch auf diese und nicht auf die andere Seite muß. :-p

My jacket is back to its status of an only sewing project. I got the zips, but my fabric is very soft and metal zips are heavy, so I am handsewing a kind of a “corset” on all openings that will have zips. (Including sleeve vents and pocket openings. I am using bias cut strips of a woven interfacing as usually used in tailoring. And sewing that on would be a little faster if on would not have to rip one of the strips completely when recognizing thet this is the side where the zip should be sewn in first. :-p

Strickkleid auf links gedrehtMein Strickkleid ist letztendlich gestrickt. (Nachdem ich den Saumabschluss noch mal getrennt habe und dann doch mit einigen Maschen weniger neu gestrickt.) Jetzt sind aber noch viele, viele Fädchen zu vernähen, bevor es durch Waschen seine endgültige Größe bekommt.

My knitting dress is finally… not finished but knit. I ripped the hem after having the thread ends woven in and redid it with fewer stitches. Now there are a lot of threads to weave before I can wash it and see if it turns out the right size.

SockeWas meine Obdachlosensocken betrifft bin ich beim Paar Nummer vier.

As far as the “socks for the homeless project” is concernd I am on my forth pair.

HäkeldeckeWenig Fortschritt an der Häkeldecke, aber sie hat jetzt die engültige Länge und ich muß tatsächlich nur noch das kleine Eck oben rechts auffüllen. Das wird noch 11 Hexagons brauchen. Die habe ich sogar noch, ich muß als keine neuen häkeln!

My hexagon blanket has only progressed a little bit, but I have the length I want and now there is only this relatively small corner on the upper right to fill. I will need 11 more hexagons for that. Which means… I have enough and do not need to crochet any more of them!

Danach muß ich dann gefühlte 500 Wollfäden am Rand entlang vernähen. Denn es wird keinen zusätzlichen Häkelrand geben.

After that I will have to weave what feels like 500 thread ends. Because I decided I will leave it like that and not crochet a border around.

Bücher Und weil ich gerade dran denke, gibt es auch mal wieder einen Blick auf meine Nachttischlektüre… das linke Buch ist so grundlegend, wie ich es mag. Selbst wie man einen Fingerhut richtig aufsetzt und warum wird erklärt. – Außerdem erweitert es meinen englischen Wortschatz, denn ich habe endlich den Unterschied zwischen “scissors” and “shears” gefunden. Das wird mich jendenfalls noch eine ganze Weile erfreuen, denn solche Bücher lese ich in kleinen Portionen. Ich will ja möglichst viel davon in meinem Hirn einlagern.
Das rechte Buch ist spannender als gedacht, was nun wieder meinen sonstigen Aktivitäten abträglich sein dürfte.

And since I just remembered to do so… I include a look on the books that are on my nightstand for reading right now. The one on the left is as basic as I love it. It even explains how to put on a thimble correctly and why. Plus it helps my understandig of English. I now know the difference between “scissors” and “shears”.
The book on the right is more thrilling than I had thought. I guess that will have some negative influence on my other activities…

Diversified again: fresh from the needles august 2015

Allmählich nähere ich mich wieder meinem üblich eher chaotischen Arbeitsstand an, bei dem diverse Projekte gleichzeig halbfertig rumliegen…

Slowly I am back to my usual working scheme that makes me having several not finished projects around…

Jackenteile
Meine Bikerjacke besteht aus zugeschnittenen Teilen, es gibt auch einzelnen Nähte, aber im Großen und Ganzen warte ich hier auf die Reißverschlüsse.

My biker jacket is cut, some seam also exist, but mostly it’s folded away and waits for the zippers.

Jerseykleid burda 6785
Derweil habe ich mir schon mal den Schnitt vorgenommen, der eines der Oberteile werden soll. Burda 6785. Dank der h&h habe ich da ja mal wieder einen Einzelschnitt von Burda, was ich schon lange nicht mehr genäht habe. Bevor ich meinen Stoff für das Shirt zerschneide gibt es also erst mal ein Probeteil aus einem billigen Stretch-Viscose Jersey das, regelmäßige Leser ahnen es schon, als Nachthemd herhalten darf. Da fehlt nur noch der Saum und vermutlich ein paar Handstiche, um den Beleg im Vorderteil zu befestigen.

So I started the preparations for one of the tops that are supposed to complete the outfit. I choose Burda 6785 which I got as a gift on the h&h trade fair. Since it is a very long time that I used a Burda pattern not from the magazine I wanted to test first. I had a cheap viscose four way stretch knit in my stash I sacrificed for the testing. And regular readers might guess… this will end up as a sleepwear. Here only the hem is missing and maybe some handstiches to tack down the front facing.

Strickkleid
Mein Strickkleid ist leider noch nicht fertig. Liegend misst es etwa 80cm, angezogen zum Glück etwas mehr, weil das Eigengewicht des Kleides auch nach unten zieht. (Mein “Vorlagekleid” misst 106 cm.) Und da der Wolladen leider schließt, habe ich dort noch das letzte Knäuel in blau gekauft. Damit könnte es dann wirklich reichen.

My knit dress isn’t finished yet. Laying on the floor it measures about 80cm, luckily the weight pulls it down a bit when worn. (The dress I took the measurements from has a lenght of 106cm.) And since the yarn shop is closing down I bought the last skein blue they still had. So the yarn might be enough.

begonnene Socke
Zusätzlich habe ich Socken für meine Aktion Socken stricken für Obdachlose angeschlagen. Noch nicht viel zu sehen, mal schaun, wie viel ich so schaffe…

Then I started socks for my Knitting socks for the homeless campaign. Not much to see and we’ll see how many socks I can manage.

Häkeldecke
Und natürlich gibt es ein Bild der Häkeldecke. Ich habe gestern davon profitiert, daß es trocken war, habe sie im Garten ausgelegt und vom Balkon aus photographiert… (Da ich seit gestern nichts dran gemacht habe, ist der Stand aber auch noch aktuell. 😉 )

And of course a picture of my endless Granny Hexagon. Yesterday it was dry and sunny, so I dragged it out in the garden and took a picture from the balcony above…. (Since I did not work anything on it since yesterday the pic is still up to date. 😉 )

Fresh and disciplined from the needles in June 2015

Ich habe gerade einen Zustand, den ich eigentlich gerne immer so hätte, aber nur selten erreiche: Es sind keine Projekte halbfertig in irgendeiner Ecke, sondern ich habe nur so viele Projekte in Arbeit, wie es sinnvoll ist.

Today I have a state I am always trying to have but hardly ever achieve: There are no nearly finished projects stored away and forgotten somewhere, but I have only as many projects going as it makes sense.

TestjackeBei Nähprojekte ist das genau eines. Nein, keine Sträflingsuniform, ein Probeteil. So ein Bettwäschesett gibt ja aus… Nach dem Photo habe ich mal Schulterpolster eingesteckt und die ersten Änderungen abgesteckt. Die Grundform entspricht schon dem, was ich haben will, aber es sind genug Änderungen, daß ich alle Schnitteile ändern muß und es ein zweites Probeteil geben wird. (Auch das wieder zum Wegwerfen, ich brauche nicht zwei solcher Jacken und will daher meine Zeit nicht mit einer unnötigen Ausarbeitung vergeuden.)

When it comes to sewing projects the “good number” for me is one. No, not a clown vest, a muslin. (This bedding stuff really is a lot of fabric…) After taking the picture I pinned shuolder pads inside and tried it on. Tha basic shape is what I want but there is enough left, to alter all pieces and make a second muslin. (Which will not be wearable either. I dont need such a jacket twice, so I won’t waste my time finishing a jacket.)

Angefangenes StrickkleidZum Stricken gibt es ein “Sofaprojekt”, nämlich ein Kleid aus dem mühsam gejagten Garn. Da die Puppe schlanker ist als ich, geht es bei ihr schon fast bis zur Taille, so weit bin ich noch lange nicht, eher knapp über den Busen. Da der Laden nur einen Monat Garnrückgabe gewährt (und schon alleine deswegen nie mein “Standardladen” werden kann) und der abgelaufen ist muß ich mir darüber keine Gedanken mehr machen. Allerdings befürchte ich im Moment auch eher, daß das Garn nicht reicht. Ich vermute, ich habe mich für eine dichtere Maschenprobe entschieden als das Originalkleid, das braucht dann natürlich auch deutlich mehr Garn… Und die Hüftzunahme habe ich noch lange nicht erreicht.

To knit I have one “couch project”, a dress from the yarn that was hard to get. Since the dress form is much slimmer than me the dress reaches nearly down to the waist. but in real it hardly goes over the bust. Since the yarn shop allows returns only within one month (and so can never become my “standard shop”) and that is over I do not have to consider that any longer. But I am more afraid it might not be enough. I think I choose a denser gauge than the original instructions and that of course eats way more yarn… And I am far from having reached the full (hip) width.

SockeDa ich das Kleid ständig anprobieren muß und mich mit den 5 Knäueln dran auch nicht unbedingt durch die Gegend bewegen muß gibt es für unterwegs noch ein paar Socken. An denen wird nicht viel gearbeitet, aber die Ferse ist gerade begonnen.

Since the dress has to be tried on every few rows and I do not want to move around with it with the five skeins of yarn attached I need a pair of socks as a transportable project. They don’t make fast progress, but I’ve reached the first row of the heel anyhow.

HäkeldeckeUnd natürlich gibt es auch ein Bild von der Häkeldecke. Ich habe 40 weitere Hexagons fertig und kann daher wieder Reihen anhäkeln. Ich schätze mal noch so fünf mehr, dann könnte ich auch die fertige Länge erreicht haben und die Reihen werden wieder kürzer.

And of course a progress pic of my granny blanket. I’ve finished those 40 more hexagons and could go back to installing the hexagons to the blanket. I think maybe 5 more rows and I will have the full lenght. Then the rows will become shorter.

Fresh from the needles in February 2015

Stopfwäsche Auch diesen Monat gibt es wieder den aktuellen Überblick. Nähtechnisch ist der absolut langweilig. Ich habe gerade ein Projekt beendet und jetzt… liegt da die farblich sortierte Stopfwäsche. Also die Hälfte ist schon weg, dafür fehlen einige Teile, die auf Kleiderbügeln hängen…

Update time again. Sewingwise it IS boring. I just finished a project and now… it’s repair and mending time. Thank you. So there are heaps of stuff, sorted by color. About half of the collected stuff is done already, but there are some items on clothes hangers, which are not in the picture.

Das dürfte mich noch so bis Ende der Woche beschäftigen. Und wenn dann nichts dazwischen kommt, kann ich endlich mal sehen, ob ich die Wickelbluse tragbar bekomme…

That should occupy me until the end of this week. And then, if nothing unexpected happens… I can finally tackle the task to make my wrap top from last year wearable….

Spitzenstulpen Auch bei meinen Spitzenstulpen hat es Fortschritte gegeben. Die zweite sollte schneller gehen, denn jetzt muß ich nicht mehr anprobieren.

My fingerless long mitts made nice progress also. The second one should knit faster, because I do not have to try it on constantly.

Socken Allerdings liegen die Stulpen im Moment auf Eis, weil ich erst mal die nächsten Geburtstagssocken zwischengeschoben habe. (Das Bild ist jetzt gemogelt, weil ich vergessen habe, eines zu machen und jetzt nicht die Kamera noch mal rausziehe. Das Bild ist vom Samstag, das Bündchen ist inzwischen fast fertig.)

But the mitts are hibernating right now, because I have to make the next birthday socks first. (Here the pic is not exactely up to date, because I forgot to take one and will not drag out my camera AGAIN. The pic is from Saturday, the cuff is nearly finished right now.)

Häkeldecke Und natürlich will ich euch den aktuellen Stand der unendlichen Häkeldecke nicht vorenthalten. Sie wird übrigens diesen Monat drei Jahren alt… und man sieht unten rechts, daß ich da die endgültige Breite erreicht habe. (Ob die Hexagons reichen, weiß ich immer noch nicht. Im Schätzen bin ich ja anerkannt schlecht. Und ausrechnen mag ich es nicht, weil ich mir nicht sicher bin, ob ich das Ergebnis wirklich wissen will…)

And or course I’ll show you the state of the eternal granny project. Wich by the way turns three, this month… and if you look closely to the lower right corner you can see that it has the intended width there. (I still do not know if my hexagons will be enought. I am really bad in guessing and I do not want to calculate, because I am not sure if I like the result…)

Fresh from the needles: Oktober 2014

Was ich euch diesen Monat erspare ist der Blick auf den Sweat Rock und die BH Bügel, da hat sich nämlich nichts getan.

What I will save you this months are the pics of the sweat skirt and the bra wires, there nothing happened.

SpitzeAuch meine Bluse hängt noch genauso auf der Puppe wie vor dem Urlaub. Allerdings habe ich die abgenähten Ecken in der Spitze aufgetrennt und gebügelt. Dafür, daß meine Mutter diese Spitze vor wenigstens 20 Jahren (oder noch länger) mit Simplicol gefärbt und meine Oma sie auf die Kissen genäht hat, hat sich das doch alles gut gehalten?

My wrap blouse hasn’t changed either. But I’ve unpicked the stitches that formed the edge in the lace and ironed everything. My mother had dyed that lace at least 20 years ago and my grandmother had sewn it then on cusions. And for that it really looks good, doesn’t it?

Abendkleid für BarbieNähtechnisch arbeite ich gerade wieder an einem Abendkleid. Allerdigns in einem anderen Maßstab… 😉 Ich bin wieder Tante geworden und nachdem ich es in den letzten gut 20 Jahren, seit ich das Schnittheft besitze genau einmal geschafft habe, ein kleines Mädchen mit einem Barbiekleid zu beschenken… fange ich einfach jetzt gleich an. Und bis die Kleine im Barbiealter ist, kann ich dann vielleicht eine kleine Garderobe verschenken. (Da ich selber aber keine Puppe mehr habe, kann ich die Sachen im Moment nur liegend präsentieren.)

Sewingwise I am working on an evening dress. Though at a very different scale… 😉 I have a brand new niece now and I am owning a mag with Barbie sewing patterns for more than 20 years. And so far I managed to sew exactly one outfit before the girl it was supposed to be for outgrew the Barbie time I’ll start now right away. If I am doing one now and then I hope to have a few ready to give once she’s grown into Barbie-age. (I don’t have a doll myself any longer, so I can show it only laying on a piece of paper.)

Lace SchalVor meinem Urlaub hatte ich dann noch eine Lace Stola angefangen. Das Garn ist das handgesponnene von Angelika, die Anleitung ist “Stola Madli”von Nancy Bush, die ich aus der einzigen (deutschen) Ausgabe von “The Knitter” die ich besitze habe. (Wenn ich noch Platz hätte, würde ich das wahrscheinlich öfter kaufen.) Hier habe ich inzwischen beide Spitzenenden und etwas mehr als fünf Rapporte des Mittelteils. Das Muster ist von estnischer Spitze inspiriert und ganz anders als die Muster aus Victorian Lace Today, die ich in letzter Zeit viel gestrickt habe.

Right before going on vaccation I had started a new lace shawl. The yarn is this hand spun by  Angelika, the pattern is “Madli” by Nancy Bush. Which I have in the only (German) issue of “The Knitter” I own. (If I had any room left I’d buy that more often.) I’ve done both endings and a bit more than 5 repeats of the main body. The pattern is Estonian Lace and quite different from the New Victorian Lace pattern I’ve been knitting a lot over the recent years.

HäkelhexagonsOffiziell beendet habe ich meine Häkel-Hexagons. Das sind jetzt 428, das wird reichen. Ich habe sie auch schon mal grob in hell, dunkel und mittel aufgeteilt. Jetzt muß ich mir dann mal ernsthaft Gedanken machen, wie ich sie zusammensetzen werde… Völlig zufällig oder doch mit System?

Officially finished are my crochted Granny hexagons. I have 428 now and that will be enough. I’ve already separted them in “light”, “dark” and “middle”. Now I have to take a decision how I will assemble them… Randomly or with a kind of a pattern?

Spring Overview April 2014

Wickelbluse Der neue Überblick fängt mit einem alten Photo an. An der Wickelbluse und deren Problematik hat sich nämlich noch nichts getan. Bzw. nichts, was zu einem Ergebnis geführt hätte. Aber ich arbeite noch dran und habe nicht vollends aufgegeben.

The new overview starts with an old photo. The wrap top and the problem are still where they were two months ago. There is something I am working on, but that takes time. But I have not given up completely.

BH

Damit sich die fast fertige Bluse nicht so alleine fühlt, gibt es einen fast fertigen BH (Élan 511) dazu. Hier sind noch die Bügel zu kürzen, die Enden zu versiegeln (wofür ich immer noch keine dauerhaft wirksame Methode gefunden habe…) und dann das Bügelband zu verschließen.

My nearly finished top needn’t feel lonely, I added a nearly finished bra (Élan 511). The wires need shortening and then I have to seal the ends (where I still haven’t found a really satisfying technique for) and close the wire tunnel.

clutchthreads1401Das nächste Projekt ist auch schon in den Startlöchern: Eine (bzw. mehrere) Clutch nach der Anleitung aus der Threads vom November 2013. Nach der kleinen und wenig bemaßten Schemazeichnung die Schnitteile herstellen war nicht so ganz einfach… Inch-Maße lassen da viel Spielraum.

The next project is already waiting: One (or several) clutch after the instructions from Threads from November 2013. Making the pattern with those tiny schematics which give only few clear measurements was not easy. Having everything in inch does not help precision…

mutu1311Auch fast fertig ist mein Strickkleid. Hier muß noch eine Spitze am Saum gegen genäht werden. Ich hoffe, dann rollt er sich nicht mehr. Grau war das beste, was ich bekommen konnte, da ich sie gerne elastisch wollte. Damit ich es tragen kann, wird es noch ein Unterkleid brauchen (die Armausschnitte gehen arg tief), aber das hat dann ein paar Monate Zeit… bis nächsten Winter.

My knitted dress is also nearly finished. I have to sew on the lace to the left side of the hem. Grey was the best I could get and I hope It won’t roll after that. To wear the dress I will need a kind of a slip (the armholes are veeery low) but that is not urgent. I hope I will not need it before next winter or at least autumn.

sock1409Fast fertig sind die nächsten Socken. Eine weitere (noch wildere) Variation auf das Stitch Surfer Muster. Keine Ahnung, warum rosa, aber mir war gerade danach….

Nearly finished the next socks, Another (even wilder) variation of the Stitch Surfer pattern. No idea why I choose this color, but I kind of felt like it…

mogr1404Den aktuellen Hexagonstand will ich euch natürlich auch nicht vorenthalten… hier bin ich inzwischen bei 345, das Ende ist schon fast zu sehen. Vermutlich noch dieses Jahr. Zumindest was die Hxxagons betrifft, sie alle zu einer Decke zusammenzufügen ist dann noch mal eine andere Geschichte…

Of course you will not miss the update on my hexagon project… I’ve crocheted 345 so far. I can nearly see the end. Probably this year. At least for the hexagons, making them into a plaid will be another story.

buch1401Ergänzend diesen Monat noch einen Blick auf die aktuelle Bettlektüre. Das gelbe Buch muß ich bis Ende des Monats mehr oder weniger auswendig können (was weniger dramatisch ist, als es klingt, weil ich nur die Unterschiede zur vorherigen Auflage neu “lernen” muß, das ist nicht so viel) und zu dem anderen kann ich noch nichts sagen. Das liegt da seit zwei Tagen, aber reingelesen habe ich noch nicht.

Additionally a look on my bedside lecture. The yellow book I have more or less to know by heart until end of the month (what is less dramatic than it looks, because I only have to “learn” what is different from the last edition and that is not that much) and for the other one I can’t say anything yet. It sits on the table for two days, but I haven’t read a word of it.

Flash Overview December 2013

Wie versprochen mal wieder einen tagesfrischen Blick in mein Gewerkel… Ich fange mit dem Nähen an:

As promised a up-to-date view from my running projects… I’ll start with sewing:

Ja, nichts, nothing, nada, rien. Es gibt keine angefangenen Nähprojekte. Nach meiner Jacke habe ich noch Kleinzeug und “dringendes” gemacht. Letzte Woche wurden meine “Verschenksäckchen” fertig, danach habe ich mich an die Weihnachtskarten gemacht (die auch fertig sind, zumindest so weit wie die Klebefolie reichte… *grmpf*)… und das war’s. Der zweite Grund dürfte sein, daß ich noch mit mir hadere, ob ich jetzt diszipliniert eine Bluse zur grauen Hose für das Frühjahr nähen soll, oder noch versuchen, “mal eben schnell” für Weihnachten ein Kleid zu nähen. (Das vermutlich nicht fertig wird und dann wieder ewig als Ufo herumliegt.)

Yes, nothing, nicht, nada, rien. There is no sewing project that is right now under my needle. After finishing the grey jacket (yes, that is a while ago) I only made tiny stuff and “urgencies”. I finished my cookies treat bags last week, made the christmas cards afterwards (which are kind of finished now, because I ran out of double sided adhesive film)… and that’s it. The other reason is probably that I can’t decide if I better continue with the long planned top for the grey pants for spring or if I try to make a dress for Christmas. (Which very likely will not be finished in time and then be another eternal ufo.)

OrgelhandschuheDafür gibt es einige Strickprojekte zu sehen. Das hier sollen Orgelhandschuhe werden, nach Maß aber ohne Anprobe und nach eigenem Entwurf. Das Garn ist “Meilenweit 50 Seta/Cashmere” von Lana Grossa. Fühlt sich weich an, erinnert mich aber mit jeder Masche daran, daß Lana Grossa nicht so mein Lieblingsgarn ist. Zumindest nicht die Sockenwolle.

But I have some knitting projects on the kneedles. First are mitts for playing the organ. (Churches in winter tend to be cold.) They are “made to measure but without a possibility to try them on beforehand” and after my own design. Yarn is “Meilenweit 50 Seta/Cashmere” by Lana Grossa. Feels nicely soft, but reminds me with each stitch, that Lana Grossa is not my favorite brands, at least for sock yarns.

Handstulpen FetchingZum Ausgleich für die großen Stulpen aus dünnem Garn stricke ich aber auch noch kleine fingerlose Handschuhe aus dickem Garn. Ich meine… wer seine Weihnachtswünsche so kurzfristig äußert, muß nehmen, was noch drin ist. Das Modell ist “Fetching” aus knitty, eine bewährte Anleitung.  Garn ist “Garzato Fleece” auch wieder von Lana Grossa. Ja, der Laden hat den Vorzug, daß er vom Büro aus mit etwas Glück tatsächlich mal so zwischendrin erreichbar ist. Und das ist jetzt eilig.

Not only big mitts on small needles, no I am also making small mitts with big needles. Christmas wishes at shirt notice means you have to take what you get. Pattern is “Fetching” from knitty, a TNT pattern. Yarn is “Garzatto Fleece”, again Lana Grossa. Well, I was in a hurry and that shop has the advantage to be pretty close to the office.

Und natürlich gibt es auch einen aktuellen Blick auf die ewige Hexagondecke. 289 ist hier der aktuellen Stand.

And of course a status update from my “eternal hexagons” project. I have 289 hexagons right now.

Flash Overview…

Es gibt ja eine Sache, die  in meinem Blog fehlt und das ist Aktualität. Bis ich meine Sachen endlich mal photographiert und gebloggt habe, sind sie ja schon fast wieder aufgetragen. (Okay, nicht ganz so schlimm… )

There is one thing, my blog is lacking and that is the up to date-ness. Until I have my stuff photographed and blogged, they are nearly outworn. (Okay, not that bad…)

Also gibt es jetzt ab und zu mal einen wirklich tagesfrischen Überblick über meine Projekte, die noch nicht fertig sind.

So from now on I’ll give you a fresh overview from ongoing projects, from time to time.

ChokerWir fangen mal mit den Stricksachen an… hier ist ein Halsschmuck, der ein paar Reste aufbrauchen sollte. Der Verschluß muß noch installiert werden.

Let’s start with knitting… here is a neckpiece which was supposed to use some remnants. The closure hasn’t been installed yet.

HitchhikerDann stricke ich gerade etwas, was inzwischen wohl schon jeder gestrickt hat: Einen Hitchhiker. Nur echt mit 42 Zacken. Hier muß noch vernäht werden.

Then I am knitting something that probably everybody else has knitted so far: A Hichtchhiker. Only real with 42 triangles. Here I need to weave in the ends.

SockeDa Weihnachten naht sind natürlich auch wieder Socken auf der Nadel. Frisch angefangen, aber bis zum Heiligen Abend ist ja noch etwas Zeit.

As Christmas is approaching I have some socks on my needles. Just started, but there is quite a lot of time until Holy Night.

GranniesNatürlich habe ich auch weiter gehäkelt. Meine Grannies sind ja aus der ersten Tasche herausgewachsen, es sind inzwischen 262 Hexagons. Hier sind die, die in der zweiten Tasche ihre Platz finden werden.

Of course I did not stop crocheting. My Grannies have outgrown their first bag, now there are 262 hexagons. That is, what is collected in the second batch (and bag) now.

BärUnter der Nähmaschine gibt es im Moment nur ein gänzlich undramatisches Projekt. Völlig zweckfreies Nähen, ein kleiner Bär ist dabei zu entstehen.

Sewingwise there is only a completely boring project, completely useless sewing. A little bear is about to be sewn.

Und die spannende Frage ist mal wieder: Interessiert das irgendwen? :o)
