Pullover habe ich früher viele gestrickt, aber in den 80ern kam es auf die Paßform nicht an und seit meinem Strick-Neustart habe ich mich kaum dran getraut. Aber das Modell gefiel mir so gut und erschien auch fix zu stricken, daß ich mich ran wagte.

I’ve knitted a lot of sweaters in my long ago knitting days, but those were the 1980s and fit was not an issue then. Since I had my knit restart I hardly ever made sweaters. But I liked this pattern and it looked as if it was quite a quick knit, so I dared to try it.

Der kurzärmelige „Rondeur“ aus der aktuellen Sommerknitty mußte es werden. Gefallen hat mir nicht nur die figurbetonte Form, sondern auch die lacige Betonung der Raglanform.

Im Gegensatz zum Original habe ich mich für maschinenwaschbare Baumwolle „Monaco“ von katia entschieden. (Und ja, die Maschenkunst hat auch nette und nicht teuere Standardgarne.) Und überraschenderweise kam ich auf Anhieb auf die gleiche Maschenzahl wie die Maschenprobe, ohne eine Nadelgröße runter gehen zu müssen. Daß ich in der Höhe mehr Reihen brauchte war nicht so schlecht, denn dadurch war die Anpassung an meinen kurzen Oberkörper einfacher.

What I liked on „Rondeur“ from the summer issue of Knitty is not only the simple but figure hugging shape but also the lacey enhancement of the raglan shape.

I’ve chosen a machine washable cotton yarn „Monaco“ from katia. (Yes, Maschenkunst does also have sensibly priced standard yarns.) To my surprise my gauge matched the stitch count of the gauge without having to go down a needle size. I needed more rows though, but that wasn’t bad as it helped to fit it to my short torso.

In der Weite habe ich die Größe 1X gestrickt, nur zur Hüfte hin habe ich einmal mehr zugenommen. Und in der Länge habe ich immer wieder anprobiert. Die Anleitung gibt auch Maße relativ zu den eigenen Körpermaßen, das hilft bei der Anpassung.

I made size 1x for the number of stitches. Only in the hip shaping I added one row of adding stitches more than the pattern calls for this size. To fit it on the length I tried it on very often while knitting. The pattern gives you instructions how to shape according to your body measurements, that helps.

Und weil der Pulli vorne und hinten den gleichen Ausschnitt hat, habe ich hinten noch mit etwas Webband von Kafka markiert. Ganz locker angenäht, damit der Pullover sich passend dehnen kann.

(Da die Bänder von Kafka mit einem schönen Abschluss an den Seiten gewebt sind, sind sie sehr weich und kratzen auch nicht auf der Haut.)

Front and back neckline are the same for this sweater so I used a bit of ribbon from Kafka to mark the back. Sewn with „ease“ so the neckline will still be able to stretch as it should.

(The ribbons by Kafka have very soft woven borders, so they are not scratchy on the skin.)

Ich mag das Ergebnis, denn der Pulli macht mehr Sanduhr-Figur als ich eigentlich habe. Aber vielleicht brauche ich noch einen Rock dazu… mal sehen. Den Preis, daß man den Bauch natürlich auch sieht zahle ich in der Gesamtansicht aber gerne. 🙂

I like the result because the sweater gives me more hourglass shape than I actually have. Maybe I need a skirt to go with it… we’ll see. The price to pay for that is that also the belly is well visible, but on a whole I’m willing to pay that price. 🙂
