From motivation to Ufo.

Tja, so schnell kann es gehen, mit der Motivation. Neulich noch Nano, jetzt Ufo. Als nächstes bräuchte ich nämlich einen Reißverschluss und den habe ich nicht. Und da ich einen Nahtreißverschluss haben will (und den auch vorher einarbeiten will, nicht erst hinterher, weil es vorher einfacher ist), liegt der Rock jetzt erst mal. Vermutlich bis mindestens nächstes Wochenende.

I want a in seam zipper (not sure how they are called in English?) and the notions stall on the green grocers market this morning didn’t have that. (I was not really surprised…) And I do not want to fiddle around and install it last (I know, that is possible, but I don’t want to). So the skirt stops. Probably until next weekend, when I hope to have the possibility to buy the zipper.

Rock HinterteileEinen Einblick in den aktuellen Stand kann ich immerhin bieten. Oben das Vorderteil mit genähten und gebügelten Abnäher, unten die beiden Rückenteile. Das das da übersteht ist der Schlitzbesatz, der ist später natürlich innen.

Soweit gefällt es mir schon mal ganz gut.

So I only have a glimps on the actual status to offer. Above the front, and the second pic shows the back, darts are sewn and pressed. What overlaps on the second picture is the facing of the vent. That will be folded to the inside later, of course.

I have to admit that I quite like it so far.

Nein, mein Mantel aus dem Motivationsmonat von Anno Dunnemals ist immer noch nicht fertig. Aber Im Januar sind Nanos, als noch nicht angefangene Objekte das Thema. Und da habe ich hier auch eines liegen…

Not, my coat from the month of motivation long ago isn’t finished yet. But the topic for January is Nanos (not yet started objects). And I have at least one here…

ZuschnittUnd zwar habe ich letzten Sommer ja einen Winterpullover fertig bekommen. Diesen kann ich aber ohne den dazu passenden Rock nicht tragen, also sollte ich mich dran machen.

Ein schmaler Rock im Patchworkstil soll es werden und in grau. In Paris habe ich mir im November schon Dekostoffe gekauft, im Dezember den Schnitt entworfen.

Last summer I finished a winter sweater. Now we have winter, but I can’t wear it without a fitting skirt. So time to do something. I want a simple straight skirt in Patchwork-style.

So I’ve bought some decorators fabrics when I was in Paris in November. And in December I constructed the pattern.

Frau mhs hat mir meinen Grundschnitt inzwischen auch angepaßt, so daß ich mit dem Zuschneiden anfangen konnte.

Das sind jetzt erst mal die Stoffstücke, die wieder neu zusammengesetzt werden. Mühsam, wenn der Zuschneide”tisch” auf dem Boden ist…

Frau mhs helped me fitting my self drafted pattern, so I could start cutting fabric. Now that are only the patches that need to be recombined. Cutting is not so much fun, if the floor is your cutting”table”….
