Projektplanung – Teil 2

Project planning – Part 2

And so I went to Montmartre and jumped between the farbric stores, touched some fabric here, tested there, matched with my scraps, compared materials… and that is the result.

Easy the skirt, which I will be able to make from material I already have. There is the sweatshirt fabric (I can see that it is pre-washed, so I had probably intended to use it for something long ago) and I also have a bit of Venezia lining that should cover my bum. (There will be no full lining.) I even had a navy seam zipper and some bias cut silk I want to use for the seam allowances. Only the sewing thread from Alterfil is a fresh buy.

(Sacré Coupons) Auch in Pink.

The perfect fit for my jacket fabric would have been a strong, pink leather. But I couldn’t find that. (Not a real surprise…) There was some pleather, perfect color but too expensive and way to stiff. (Really, 70€/m for stiff plastic, only because it is labelled “Nina Ricci”…? Not really.) So I choose a structured linen fabric, and the right color. (Sacré Coupons) The pale pink is a cheap cotton that will be the underlining. (Marché Saint-Pierre) My jacket fabric is very loosely woven, so it will get a complete underlining. Also I want to use pink lining and that will look brighter against a lighter background. The sewing thread vom Alterfil already arrived, the zippers are still missing. Those will be made to measure, so I will have to make the definitve pattern first. The lining is also missing. I am still thinking if I buy the amount I need or if I better take 10 meters cheaper…

For the tops I had planned it was soon clear I wanted the pink woolen knit from Sacré Coupons. But then I could not find a woven for a blouse I liked. Instead there was this blue in blue leo pattern, also a knit. So I will make two hoodies instead. 😉 (Sewing thread is from Alterfil.)

So then I mostly need time to sew all that….
