Elan 511 – second approach

Die zweite Variante habe ich mehr oder weniger direkt nach der ersten genäht. Auch hier alles noch mal mit Resten und improvisiert.

The second version I did more or less directly after the first one, still using scraps and improvising.

Ich wollte kein “vollständiges” Kurzwarenpaket anpacken, deswegen habe ich bei den Trägern sehr improvisieren müssen. Bei den Resten hatte ich noch zwei Stücke, die je etwa 10cm lang waren. Das reicht, um die nötige Dehnung zu bekommen. (Hoffe ich.) An die habe ich dann ein farblich genau passendes nicht dehnbares Strickband genäht. Das hatte ich bei Mokuba mal für ein anderes Projekt gekauft, dafür aber doch nicht verwendet.

I didn’t want to take something away from still complete packages with bra supply, so I had to improvise the straps. I had two scraps, 10 cm each, from white straps left which should be enough to assure the elasticity. For the rest I used a knitted something I had bought years ago at Mokuba in Paris for another project. I hadn’t used it then, but the color fits perfectly here.

Diesmal habe ich die Körbchen gefüttert, dafür mußte schwarzer Meryl herhalten, der gerade noch dafür ausreichte. Die rechte Seite habe ich gepolstert, allerdings nicht mit dem teuren Laminat sondern mit Volumenvlies, das ich einfach sternförmig auf das “Innenkörbchen” genäht habe.

This time I lined the cups as the instructions probably intended and I mad my usual padding in one of the cups. But instead oe expensive laminated foam I used a bit of batting. Sewing it on the “inside” cup might not look to nice from the inside, but it is a quick method.

Am Schnitt habe ich am Untercup bis zu 1cm mehr Tiefe zugefügt und auch zur vorderen Mitte hin zugegeben. Dafür ist das Mittelteil schmaler und ich habe es gerafft, weil es ungerafft sozusagen “aufsitzt”. Das Rückenteil habe ich im Auslauf der Breite der Verschlüsse angepaßt.

Pattern alteretations so far: adding up to 1cm more depth to the lower cup, adding a bit towards the middle. The bridge got smaller and I made the shirring, because unshirred it kind of “sits” on the belly. And I adapted the width of the back parts to the width of the closures.

Version eins befindet sich gerade im Tragetest. Sie ist erstaunlich bequem, allerdings haben die zu kleinen Körbchen zur Folge, daß es eher eine Büstenhebe ist, als ein Büstenhalter. 😀 Und das Mittelteil dehnt sich doch gewaltig, daß ein bißchen Vlisofix nicht reicht, um der Belastung stand zu halten war im Grunde ja absehbar.

Number one is at the level of “wearing test”. It is surprisingly comfy, but the cups are to small and so it has the tendeny to become “cupless bra” over the day. 😀 And the bridge stretches quite a lot which is not so surprising. A bit of Vlisofix is probably not strong enough to support all that stretch.
