h&h 2017 – just a little bit…

Auf der h&h gibt es ja nicht wirklich was zu kaufen, aber ein paar Sachen habe ich auch diesmal mitgebracht. (Was ich und die anderen Redaktionsmitglieder sonst noch so interessant fanden, kann man im hobbyschneiderin24 Forum nachlesen.) Von so! pattern will ich die Schlupfhose zu meinem Strickpulli nähen, der gerade in Arbeit ist. Denn die sieht gar nicht so nach Schlupfhose aus und zu Strick darf es gerne bequem sein. Von Organ bekam ich neue Nadeln… also die Nadeln sind nicht so neu, es sind Nadeln für die Cover. Neu ist zum einen, daß sechs Stück im Päckchen sind, je drei in jeder Größe. Soll zum covern ganz praktisch sein. Außerdem sind sie jetzt mit mittlerer Kugelspitze (schonender zum Stoff) und verchromt, was stabiler ist als die übliche Vernickelung.

On the h&h trade fair you can not really buy and take away stuff, but there were some things I brought home. (Other things me and the other members of our editors team have found interesting can be found at the hobbyschneiderin24 forum.) From so! pattern I got the pattern for the pull on pants. I’ve seen reviews and since it does not really look like a pull on pant I’ll give it a try. I am planning to use it for pants that shall go with the tunic I am knitting right now. Then I got needles by Organ. They are not new from scratch, Organ has been making needles for cover machines for long. But now they come in packages of six, three each in two sizes (for those who like a three needle cover stitch), the tip a more rounded than it was before, so the risk of damaging the fabric is further reduces and they are chromed on the outside, as industrial needles normally are.

Förmlich “abgeschossen” wurde man mit Nähgarnen von Ackermann. Die älteren unter uns kennen den Namen vielleicht noch. Natürlich hat das neue Ackermann Nähgarn mit der bewährten Deutschen Marke erst mal nichts zu tun. Hier handelt es sich jetzt um ein einfaches Polyester Stapelgarn (also kein Core Spun, wie die hochwertigen Markengarne), das in Polen produziert wird und zu einem günstigen Preis in den deutschen Läden ankommen dürfte. Hinter der Marke steht heute Marco Seitz, der vor einigen Jahren die alte Marke “Gritzner” erfolgreich wiederbelebt hat. Ich habe jetzt jedenfalls eine Menge davon und früher oder später wird das eine oder andere davon auch auf meiner Maschine landen.

A product you could nearly not avoid was sewing thread by Ackermann. Old enough German sewers will know the brand as a traditional German brand that has disappeared quite a while ago. The new version is of course not made in Germany, but in Poland. It’s a simple polyester thread (no core spun like the premium brands) and it will probably hit the stores at a very low price. The guy behind the brand today is Marco Seitz who already successfully revived the traditional sewing machine brand “Gritzner” some years ago. Now I have quite a few rolls of that sewing thread so it will probably get to my machine sooner or later.

Tja… und bei Jim Knopf konnte ich einigen der Mustertüten nicht widerstehen… besonders die Neonfarben haben es mir angetan.

And then there were some sample bags with buttons you could buy from Jim Knopf. Could not resist some of them, especially I fell in love with the neon colors.

Creativa 2017 – the haul

Okay, was macht frau, wenn sie keine Zeit für Handarbeiten hat? Na ganz klar… sie geht shoppen. Und kauft noch mehr Zutaten fürs Handarbeiten. 😮

What does one do if one has not time for crafting? Well… shopping of course! Buying more stuff to use in crafting. 😮

Was ich auf der Creativa dieses Jahr noch so gesehen habe, kann man hier im Hobbyschneiderin24 Forum nachlesen. Aber was ich gekauft habe, will ich euch nicht vorenthalten. 😉

What I’ve seen on this years Creativa you can see here on the Hobbyschneiderin24 Website (Sorry, all in German, but there are some pics). But what I’ve bought I’ll show you here.

Das meiste davon war übrigens sogar geplant. 😉 Da wäre die dünne Merinowolle von Zürcher-Stalder. Da sich mein Raglan von oben ja bewährt, will ich mir einen weiteren Pulli in Blautönen stricken. Irgendwas mit Farbverläufen oder so…. weiter geht die Planung noch nicht. Wird sicher auch nächstes Jahr, aber da ich das Garn so hier nicht bekomme… Menge für ein Oberteil ist okay, denke ich. Bei Kafka hatte es mir diesmal das Band mit dem Pepita Muster angetan. Und natürlich habe ich mir wieder ein Überraschungstütchen gegönnt. (Gebügelter Inhalt siehe Bild unten…) Diesmal waren keine längeren Teile dabei, dafür Muster und besonders Farben die ich noch nicht habe. Also eine gute Wahl, um meine Optionen zu vergrößern.

Most of my purchases were even planned. 😉 There is the fine merino yarn from Zürcher-Stalder. Since my Raglan from the top seems to work out I plan to do another top with the same technique in different hues of blue. Something with color gradation, I think… that is as far as my planning goes. won’t start until next year I guess but since I can’t get this wool around here it’s okay to have the amount for one top. At the Kafka booth I fell in love wit the pepita ribbon. And of course I’ve purchased one of the surprise bags. (See picture below for the contents after ironing them.) This time there were no long pieces, but a lot of color combinations and even patterns I do not have yet. So a very good choice to enhance my options.

Die Städtebänder von einem anderen Anbieter waren hingegen ungeplant. Aber ich brauche eh mal Schlüsselbänder, um Büroschlüssel für verschiedene Städte zu kennzeichnen, da kam mir Köln und Düsseldorf gerade recht. Bonn gab es leider nicht. Dafür ging noch Paris mit für “wo am nötigsten” und Franken aus sentimentalen Gründen.

The ribbons with the city names from another booth on were not planned. But I’ve been thinking about making lanyard keychains for my office keys for different cities. So Cologne and Dusseldorf were perfect for me. Bonn sadly doesn’t exist. But then I took some meters of Paris for “wherever it will be necessary” and also Franconia for sentimental reasons.

Klöppel hatte ich mir auch schon ewig kaufen wollen, denn ein Lehrbuch habe ich seit knapp 30 Jahren. Jetzt auch die Klöppel. Über die Sache mit der Zeit reden wir nicht. Völlig ungeplant war dann das Nadelspiel von Knit Pro. Aber mir war im Zug eine Nadel gebrochen und über eine Stunde Rückfahrt wollte ich dann nicht ohne mein Strickzeug verbringen. Im Moment dürfte ich jetzt so 14 Spielstricknadeln in 2mm haben… das sollte dann eine Weile reichen.

Boobins for bobbin lace I’ve also wanted to buy for a very long time. A own a book about how to learn that for nearly 30 years. So now I have the bobbins also. We won’t talk about the little detail where to get the time for that… What I had not planned to buy were the dpn from knit pro. But one of mine broke on the train and since it is more than one hour for the trip I had not wanted to go back without knitting. So I should have 14 dpns in 2mm at the moment… that should do for a while.

Und bei Merchant and Mills habe ich mir dann nicht nur das Handmaß gegönnt (irgendwo habe ich shcon so eines, aber da ich es seit ungefähr drei Jahren nicht mehr finde, ist Ersatz dann doch erlaubt), sondern konnte diesem feinen Seersucker aus Baumwolle auch nicht widerstehen. Falls wir doch mal wieder einen heißen Sommer haben, sollte das perfekt und bügelfrei sein.

When I saw the booth of Merchant and Mills I decided to buy the sewing gauge to replace the other one I have not been able to locate for more than three years now. So buying a new one seems fair. then I could not resist the fine seersucker cotton fabric. In case we should have a hot summer again that can make an airy dress that does not need ironing.

Immerhin, es passte alles in eine Tüte und ich brauchte keinen Trolley. Von daher ist das für Creativa doch mäßig, oder? 😉

But everything I got fits into one paper bag and I did not need a shopping trolley. So for the Creativa I was were moderate in my shopping, wasn’t I? 😉

Und schon wieder schwach geworden…

I am so weak…

… wenn es um Stoffgeschäfte in Paris geht.

Ich habe keine Ahnung, was daraus werden soll, aber diesen Stoff bei Malhia Kent konnte ich mal wieder nicht liegen lassen. (Das heißt… doch, ich habe eine Idee, was daraus werden könnte, die Frage ist nur, ob die Menge reicht. Und wann ich Zeit dafür habe. 😮 )

I have no idea what this is supposed to become, but this fabric at Malhia Kent I could not leave alone. (Okay… I do have an idea what I would like to make of it. The problem might be the yardage that is available. And when I might have the time for that. 😮 )

Dann entdeckte ich in der Nähe von République einen mir noch unbekannten Stoffladen, Eurotissus. Und Polyester oder nicht… diesen Panelstoff mußte ich dann auch haben. Die Blüten sind so angeordnet, daß man sowohl die dunkle, als auch die helle Seite nach oben nehmen kann.

Then I detected a new to me fabric store close to République, Eurotissus. Normally I do not like polyester, but this panel fabric had to become mine. If you take a close look on the flowers you can see that you can use the fabric either with the dark or with the bright side up.

Der zweite Stoff ist dann Viscose mit Polyester. Daß er in Wirklichkeit ein tiefes Dunkelblau ist müßt ihr mir jetzt glauben… Aber hier hatte ich die Wahl, entweder die Farbe oder das Muster zu treffen. Und ich habe mich für das Muster entschieden. Einfarbige Stoffe mit kleinen Webmustern sind ja nicht so einfach zu bekommen. Hier habe ich ob des günstigen Preises mal sechs Meter mitgenommen… das reicht für egal was.

The second fabric is a viscose-poly blend. That the color is a beautiful deep navy… take my word for it! But I had the choice of showing the color or the weave and decided for the weave. Uni fabrics with small woven patterns are rather hard to get and since the price was really good I got six meters. That will be enough for whatever I am going to make with it.

Tja, und das Webband von Maison Sajou mußte dann auch noch mit. Das hatte ich auf der h&h schon gesehen und jetzt ist es auch im Laden zu haben. Im Grunde überteuert, aber als Parisfan mußte das sein. Immerhin nimmt ein Meter Band nicht so viel Platz weg. 🙂

Well… the ribbon by Maison Sajou had to come with me also. I had already seen it on the h&h trade fair and now it is available in the shop also. It is maybe too expensive but as a Paris fan I needed to have it. Okay, one meter does at least not take so much storing space… 🙂

Astrokatze, endlich auf Stoff!

Astrokatze, finally on fabric!

Die Stoffdesigns von “Astrokatze” Natascha Krchov hatten mir ja schon gut gefallen, als sie vor einigen Jahren recht verloren damit auf der Creativa saß. Und unsere Bekanntschaft haben wir seither auf der h&h auch immer wieder aufgefrischt. Nur was ich nie verstand war, daß es ausgerechnet das coole Firmenmaskottchen nicht auf Stoff gab…

I had instantly fallen in love with the fabric designs by “Astrokatze” Natascha Krchov when I saw them at a quite lost place on the Creativa a few years ago. And we have been meeting again over the last years on the h&h. Just what I never understood was, that she did not have her logo (the astro cat) on fabric also… I mean… I love cats… and comics…

Das hat jetzt aber ein Ende und ich habe mich über die Nachricht auf der h&h so sehr gefreut, daß mir die Designerin selber ein reichliches Stück davon zugeschickt hat. Ein sehr schöner Jersey, nicht zu dick und nicht zu dünn, 5% Elasthan, der Rest ist zertifizierte Bio Baumwolle. Und einer genialen weißen Astrokatze auf anthrazitfarbenem Grund. (Die Stoffe werden übrigens alle in der EU hergestellt.)

But now finally she did it and I was evidently quite freaking out on the h&h when she told me about it, that the designer herself sent we a generous piece of that lovely fabric when it came out. It is a really nice jersey knit, not to thick, not to thin, 5% elasthane, the rest is organic cotton. And the cute white astro cat on anthracite. (Btw, the fabrics are produced in the EU.)

Ich habe auch schon eine Idee, was das ungefähr werden könnte, da das Nähen bei mir aber immer etwas dauert, zeige ich euch wenigstens schon mal den Stoff… Der wird ganz sicher kein Nachthemd. 🙂 Der will unter die Leute!

I already have an idea what I could make of it, but since I am very slow in sewing I decided to show you at least the fabric…. it will not become a night shirt… that is made to be seen!

Crazy for Buttons!
Auf der h&h kann man ja eigentlich nichts direkt kaufen. Mit Ausnahme einiger Knöpfe. Und dieses Jahr bin ich so richtig schwach geworden. Nicht nur bei Jim Knopf, sondern auch bei Knopf Budke. Auch die stellen tolle Naturknöpfe “Made in Germany” her, aber sie verkaufen dummerweise nur in Tüten. 😮 Aber sie waren so schön…

On the h&h trade fair you normally can’t buy something. (Not to take away and in small quantities.) With the exception of some buttons. And this year I really fell for it. Not only at Jim Knopf, but also at Knopf Budke. They also make great buttons “Made in Germany” and mostly from natural materials. But they only sell them in prepacked bags. 😮 But they are so beautiful…

Die Perlen bekam ich von Toho aus Japan. Sie habe sehr elegante, winzige Glasperlen, die nicht glänzend, sondern matt sind. Und danaben noch einige andere, auch welche, die richtig reflektieren. Das ist doch deutlich eleganter als Reflexband…

The beads are a sample from Toho beads from Japan. They have very elegant tiny glass beads which are not shiny but matte. And some more… including a range of reflecting beads. That is a far more elegant option than those grey reflective ribbons…

50 shades of royalblau

50 Shades of Royal Blue

Na gut, ganz so schlimm ist es nicht. Aber doch faszinierend.

Okay, it ain’t that bad, but still fascinating.

Kürzlich bestellte ich Dessousmaterialien. Daß das mit den Farben immer schwierig ist nach Photos ist schon klar. Aber deswegen gibt es ja so was wie Farbnummern. Dachte ich. So bestellte ich die all-over Spitze in “Royal-blau Fb1078” und eine Mikrofaser in “Königsblau Fb1078”.

Some time ago I’ve ordered material for bra sewing. I know that it is difficult to choose colors after pictures. But that’s why there are descriptions and even such things as color numbers. At least that’s what I’ve thought. So I ordered an all-over lace in “Royal-blau Fb1078” and a microfiber fabric in “Königsblau Fb1078”. (“Königsblau” is the Geman word for “royal-blue”)

Gut, die Spitze rechts hat eine Farbe, die ich auch als royalblau bezeichnen würde. Die Farbe der Mikrofaser… ist dunkelblau. Ein bißchen heller, wenn die Sonne genau drauf scheint. Und hat immerhin noch einen Unterton der so irgendwie in die Richtung geht. Aber dafür, daß es die gleiche Farbnummer ist… schon spannend. Und dann habe ich noch eine schmale elastische Spitze dazu bestellt. Die hat zwar nicht die gleiche Farbnummer, ist aber auch als “royal-blau” bezeichnet. Die Farbe hat allerdings nicht die geringste Ähnlichkeit mit “royal” oder “königsblau”. Es ist so eine Art… pastel-petrol mit grauem Unterton. 😛

Okay, the lace on the right is what I’d call royal blue. The color of the microfiber fabric… is navy. In direct sunlight maybe a lighter navy. And there is at least an undertone that maybe goes a bit in the royal blue directions. But considering that both materials have the identical color number…. interesting. An then I also ordered a lace trim. Which did have a different color number, but was also called “royal blau”. And here… really, the color has not the slightest similarity with anything “royal”. It’s more a kind of… pastel teal with a greyish underton. 😛

Farbwahrnehmung ist schon eine spannende Sache… 😀

Maßvolle Messeshopping in Paris

Modest shopping in Paris

Auf der L’Aiguille en Fête in Paris war ich ja in erster Linie zum “arbeiten”, also um einen Bericht für Hobbyschneiderin24 zu schreiben, aber ein bißchen eingekauft habe ich doch…

Going to L’Aiguille en Fête in Paris was basically “work” because I went to write an article for Hobbyschneiderin24, but there was a bit of shopping for me also…

Geplant war der Wollkauf. In Frankreich gibt es eine Organisation Le Mohair des Fermes de France, die die Fasern vieler kleiner Züchter von Angoraschafen verarbeitet und an die einzelnen Züchter zur Selbstvermarktung zurückgibt. Und an einem dieser Orte habe ich vor vielen, vielen Jahren (2007 sagt mein Blog) nach ausführlichem Streicheln kleiner Ziegenbabies sechs Knäuel Wolle in rot gekauft. Mehr ging nicht, weil ich nicht mehr Bargeld dabei hatte.

What I had planned for was buying that lovely yarn. In France there is the organization Le Mohair des Fermes de France who takes the fibers from small breeders of mohair goats, spins and dyes it and gives it back to the breeders so they can sell it on their own. And a long, long time ago (2007 says my blog) on one of those farmes I’ve bought six fluffy skeins of yarn. (After playing with the baby goats…) I could not buy more because I did not have more cash.

Ursprünglich wollte ich ein Tuch daraus stricken, aber je länger ich das Garn hatte, desto sicherer war ich mir, daß es eher eine Tunika werden will. Nur hatte ich dafür nicht genug Garn. Das sind fluffige 25g Knäuel… Und das Garn gibt es natürlich nicht im Wollgeschäft, ist ja nur Selbstvermarktung. Aber ich hatte im Ausstellerverzeichnis gesehen, daß jemand das Garn auf die Messe mitbringen würde. 🙂 (Es waren dann sogar mehrere da.) Also habe ich eines meiner roten Knäuel mitgenommen und bei La Ferme d’Amalthée noch sieben braune dazu gekauft. (Gleiche Farbpartie bekommt man ja nach so vielen Jahren nicht mehr. :o) ) Mal sehen, ob es 2016 oder 2017 verarbeitet wird. Noch mal so lange soll es aber auf keinen Fall liegen.

My plan was to knit a shawl, but the longer I had the yarn the more I was sure I wanted to become a tunic. Only I did not have enough yarn for that. One ball is just 25g… And of course you can’t buy it in yarn shops, its for the individual farmers to sell it. But when studying the list of the exhibitors I saw that the yarn would be on sale on the fair. 🙂 (In the end there were several exhibitors who carried it.) So I took one of my red skeins with me and choose seven brown ones at La Ferme d’Amalthée. (No chance to get the same dye lot after so many years. :o) ) Not sure if I will knit it in 2016 or 2017. But I do not intend to let it sit for so many years again.

Nicht ganz so geplant war dieser Stift. Sieht auch nicht so besonders aus. Kann aber mit dünner Spitze dauerhaft auf Stoff schreiben. So was hatte ich zum Markieren schon länger mal gesucht und da war die Gelegenheit gerade günstig…

Not so well planned was buying this pen. Doesn’t look any special. But it can write with a fine tip on fabric. I’ve already had the idea that something like that would be useful, so I took it when I saw it.

Danach hielt ich es für besser, die Messe zu verlassen… bevor ich noch mehr gekauft hätte, als in den Koffer gepasst hätte. 😉

Then I decided it was time to go home… before I would shop more than my luggage could hold… 😉

Wenig inspirierend…

Not so inspiring…

… war mein Urlaub, was den handarbeitlichen Aspekt betrifft. (Daß ich mit zwei Männern unterwegs war, die meine Interessen in dieser Hinsicht nicht teilen war nicht hilfreich.)

… were my holidays as far as craft is concerned. (Traveling with two guys who do not share my crafty interest at all didn’t help either.

Wir hatten also Landschaft…

…das Meer (wenn nicht gerade Ebbe ist)…

…und Schafe.

Und als ich zumindest EIN Wollgeschäft fand, hatte es zu. 🙁

Da bleibt einem nur der Alkohol…

So there is only alcohol left…

Natürlich habe ich den Urlaub trotzdem genossen, aber die Ausbeute an Souvenirs war gering wie noch selten. Es gibt unglaublich viele Andenkenläden, die alle mehr oder weniger das gleiche haben. Zwar ist viel durchaus “Made in Ireland”, aber langweilig und erkennbar industrielle Produktion. Es gibt den “Standard-Aran” Pullover in fünf Farben, sinnlos locker gestrickt und mit Waschverbot, es gibt langweiligen Schmuck mit den immer gleichen Triskelen und Co., Tweedjacken und gepatchte Kappen… aber nichts davon hatte eine ansprechende Webung.

Of course I’ve enjoyed my holiday, but I can’t remember if I have ever taken back so few souvenirs. There are gift shops in every village, but all have more or same the identical products. Many is “Made in Ireland”, but it is boring and visibly industrially made without individual craftmanship. There is the “standard aran” jumper identical pattern in five colors, knitted so loosely it is hardly useful and “dry cleaning only”, boring silver jewelry with always the same triskelion and so on, tweed wests and patchwork hats… but nothing had a interesting weave or touch.

So wurde es am Ende ein (eher lumpiges) T-Shirt, dessen Motiv ich nicht widerstehen konnte und zwei Geschirrtücher aus Leinen. (Für mein Schatzi haben wir dann auch noch ein Leinenhemd gefunden.) Und ein Taschentuch mit Stickerei und Häkelspitze.

So at the end I broght home a (quite flimsy) top where I could not resist the print and two linen tea towels. (And a nice linen shirt for DH.) And a hankie with ebroidery and crochet lace.

Gegen Ende der Reise, an einem touristenüberlaufenen Aussichtspunkt fand ich dann das erste Geschäft, das interessante Sachen hatte. Und ich bin noch am Überlegen, ob ich mir diesen Throw bestelle. Die Farben sind eigentlich nicht so ganz mein Spektrum und ich brauche ganz sicher nicht noch eine Stola, aber der ist wirklich schön. Sie hatten ihn im Laden aber nur noch in der kleinen Größe und 100 cm x 142 cm ist als Tuch zum Einwickeln zu kurz. Im Webshop gibt es ihn dann auch noch in 182 cm Länge. Was eigentlich zu lang ist. Aber der ist sooo schön…

Only at the very last day, at a view point where busloads of tourists get driven to, I saw the first shop with interesting stuff. And I am still thinking to mail order this throw. The colors are not exactly my typical spectrum and I do not need another shawl for sure, but it is really beautiful. In the shop they had only the smaller size and 100 cm x 142 cm is to short to use as a shawl to wrap me in. But the online show has also 182 cm long. Which is to long, to be honest. But it is soooo beautiful…….

You should think…

…so ein bißchen Baumwollgarn für ein sommerliches Strickkleid in zwei Blautönen wäre nicht zu viel verlangt. Aber Pustekuchen!

… some cotton yarn for a summer dress in two different blues wasn’t asking to much. Well… I was quite wrong!

Am Ende war es doch eine ziemliche Odyssee, dieses Linova von ggh und Golf von Lang Yarns zu jagen.

In der Maschenkunst gab es zwar jeden Menge Garn von ganz vielen Firmen, auch viel in Blau… darunter auch das eine oder andere passende blau. Nur die vorrätigen Mengen… für ein Strickkleid in meiner Größe reichte das bei weitem nicht. (Das ist vermutlich die Kehrseite der Markenvielfalt.) Bei Lana Grossa gab es dann weniger Marken, eine Sorte der zahlreichen Baumwollgarne hatte sogar die richtigen Blautöne…. aber 10 Knäuel von der Hauptfarbe sind immer noch zu wenig. In meiner Verzweiflung war ich sogar bei Kaufhof und Karstadt, aber da reden wir nicht drüber…

First I tried Maschenkunst. There they have a plethora of different brands, so there were several nice blues. Just…. none of it was available in big quantities. Not for a dress in my size. (That is probably the downside of the many brands and yarns they carry.) The Lana Grossa shop had less brands, but still a lot of cotton or cotton blends, even the right blues… but ten skeins of the main color.. no way. Am Ende unterbrach ich die Rückfahrt mit der Straßenbahn dann noch mal um in ein Wollgeschäft zu gehen, an dem ich schon oft vorbei gegangen war. Nur immer entweder früh am Morgen, oder spät am Abend. Oder Sonntag. Aber diesmal hatte Frau von der Wolle auch offen! (Logisch, war ja mal eine normale Uhrzeit an einem Wochentag.) Dort gibt es zwar auch keine so riesige Vielfalt an Marken, aber mir reicht ja ein Garn, wenn es das richtige ist. Von der Golf hätte es zwei passende Farben gegeben, jedoch auch hier die eine nicht mehr in der passenden Menge. Aber… die matte Linova wird einen schönen Kontrast zum merzerisierten Baumwollgarn geben und die war noch reichlich vorhanden. Jetzt muß ich innerhalb von einem Monat so viel stricken, daß ich abschätzen kann, wie viel ich zurückgeben kann…

In the end I went home without yarn, but then left the Straßenbahn some stations before I arrived at home. Because… there was another yarn shop I had passed often over the last years, but either early in the morning or late at night or on Sundays. But this time Frau von der Wolle was open! (No surprise, because it was a normal day time.) The owner does only carry a few brands, but in the end I only need one yarn, if it’s the right one. Golf would have been nice, also two nice colors… only the darker one was not available in the quantitiy I need right now. But the matte linen cotton blend Linova has also a nice color and I think the contrast between matte and shiny of the cotton will be nice. Now I only have to try to knit enough over one month, that I can make a good guess if I can return something and how much…

My picks from the h&h trade fair 2015

Die Messe ist ja schon wieder über eine Woche her. Meine Eindrücke und viele Bilder habe ich ja hier im Forum schon gezeigt. (Wobei ich euch den ganzen Artikel ans Herz legen würde, denn jede von uns hatte einen anderen Blickwinkel und hat andere Sachen gesehen.) Die wenigen Sachen, die ich für mich selber mit nach Hause genommen habe, will ich euch aber auch noch zeigen. 🙂

It is already more than one week that the trade fair took place. My personal impressions including pictures I’ve shown here in the forum. (And even though it is only in German it is absolutly worth to check the pictures of the complete article because each of us saw different things.) But I will also show you the few things I’ve picked for myself- 🙂

Da ich diesmal nur einen Tag und nur den Sonntag hatte, blieb nicht viel Zeit. Aber bei Jim Knopf wanderten dann doch wieder etliche schöne Knöpfe in meine Tasche und da es das Ende des letzten Tages war, wurde ich bei Burda mit zwei Einzelschnitten beschenkt. Besonders der mit den Raffungen gefällt mir sehr gut. Ich hatte schon lange keinen Einzelschnitt von Burda mehr und freue mich darauf, mal wieder einen zu nähen.

I had only one day this year and it was the Sunday, so I had not much time. But I could not resist buying some buttons at Jim Knopf and since it was quite the end of the day burda had a generous give away of two patterns. I like especially the one with the shirrings. I’ve not sewn a Burda pattern that is not from the magazin for a very long time, so I am really looking forward to the experience.
